i'll have to get through this one, and the rear to match, then see how froggy i'm feeling. right now i would pay to be done with it!
 
few more pictures, welded up what was there to be welded and slapped it back on. tomorrow i'll work out the winch plate and some gussets to make this thing super stout. also welded some peanut shaped plates on the ends that tie both tubes together, and close them up. hard to see in the pictures though.

That's sick! The center stinger matched with those light hoops is badass! I can see a Rigid light bar fitting on top of the center section perfectly. Your getting yourself into all kinds of trouble with these builds. First roof racks now bumpers. Your gonna be the next Shrockworks.
 
I love how this is turning out! I would love to see a plate version of this as well! Either way, the stinger with the headlight hoops look great!
 
My god. Those bends are super attractive. I already knew the lines of the headlight and grill hoops were great before, and now with these new pictures from the front. :jaw drop: such sexiness!! Im really liking the bend on the two bottom support tubes. It keeps drawing my eyes......

lol, those little sum beaches made me feel like i was back in algebra class! im finding it very tricky to land all the bends, rotation, and notches just right with all manual tools.
 
Do you have the length and angles the center hoop was bent. I really like how it turned out and may try to duplicate it onto my bumper at some point. If you don't mind of course.

I really like what you did and I'm sure you could sell a few if you ever got the motivation to do it again.

Yah, exactly what I was talking about. The sturdier the better, don't want nothing twisting when a recovery/winching is happening! This thing looks VERY stout and I'm really liking the headlight hoops. It's gunna look good when the projectors finally get installed....

PS - the live build updates are deadly.
 
SCrunner: the base of the center hoop is 33-1/2" wide and the bends are 76 degrees. i put mine about 8 inches up off the main tube. that may or may not do you any good as every build would be a little different.

more progress: i added some connectors from the base of the center supports out to the bottom tubes as well as small section tying the ends together. also, im sure you see my solution to hiding the "ugly" that most just cover with black paint. once the whole bumper is black i think the expanded metal will do a great job of hiding. i also plan to put some simple LED signals behind the mesh. off to work rockin the bare steel!!

Still undecided there. I won't have a winch for a while but I think I'd like to have a solid piece there for a fairlead later on. I'm not sure if that would be too much expanded metal?
 
Looking really good Whitson! I like the mesh, helps to cover up the "ugly" behind it, as you said...

Nice KTM too!

Black, for sure. I like that idea, the diamond plate will match the diamond mesh you already have on there.

Sick bumper! If I ever got a tube bumper (staunch ARB guy!), I would love to get one of these!
