won't start...clicking noise

Sorry to jump on this, but I don't have enough posts to start my own. Anyway, I think I have a similar problem, but I'll describe it to see if you all think it's different. Here goes: Battery isn't that old, seems strong, clean terminals, etc. Inside, lights are strong and open door indicator sounds, heater/a/c controls are working. Turning the key- rapid clicking and nothing, no turning over or anything beyond the clicking. Under the hood- For a bit, the fuse box was "pulsing", but I think that has stopped. I tapped the starter with a wrench, but still wouldn't start. Any ideas? TIA
