Piecing Together a Lift

I have some 9.25 wraps currently being shipped, I'm not sure what I'll be using for shocks yet. Given what other people have said these coils provide alot of lift so I'm interested to see how it turns out. For the front I'm debating on tundra/bilstein's or just saving for toytec coilovers....

Here are the LC 9.25 wraps, I ordered them from cruiserparts for $45 each.

Your 4runner looks great!
What perch do you have the 5100's at? Did you take any hight measurements?

Thanks Yoter, the 5100's are set on the third perch up. I took some measurements but I don't think I did it correctly (23 1/2 in the front and 25 1/4 in the rear) Ill have to go out and take them again.


I had a question with regard to ball joints. I noticed on two occassions a big "clunk" noise on the front passenger side while at full lock, both times when reversing, while turning around doing a 3-point turn. So this morning I thought I should try and diagnose it. I wasn't able to get it to make the clunk again, but while inspecting other areas I noticed this

They look pretty brutal I wouldn't be surprised if they are the original ball joints. The grease coming out of this one doesn't suggest they like the new lift as much as I do. I wont have time to do ball joints until later in April when school is finished. Is the 4runner still safe to drive?

EDIT: I think I sort of answered my own question I'm just gonna let the 4runner sit until I can get the ball joints done. 200 bucks vs damage caused by lbj failure.....I guess it is pretty obvious

the clunk is your steering stoppers, they are supposed to have rubber stops on the metal bumps but have worn off. mine does the same thing. right at full lock or when pulling into a parking spot there is a clunk that is pretty loud when parking. maybe someone else can point out where they are at.
ps it doesn't do it when you are standing still and turning the wheel. only when moving as well.
 
As far as ball joints go, I replaced all four of mine after my lift. Along with tie rod ends and CVs. Everything was original and I replaced for safety. I use the old CVs and LBJs for trail spares.

what are you using for the frame?

also it looks so good! keep up more pictures! i want to see more when you are finished with the axles and everything! but dang it looks good!
