Working on New Wind Fairing ?

The wind noise from the thin plexi fairing has been driving me crazy lately. I could probably shave some off of the fairing but decided to try to make my own and just replace it all together.
Decided to make it out of wood, treat it, paint it matte black and plasti coat it.

Then remembered I had collect a load of stickers from various travels so decided to throw those on there first and line them up before paint then put them back on after paint and plasti coat over the top of everything to allow bug guts to wash off easier.

I will need some sort of rubber strip for the bottom to protect the roof paint. I searched to try to find what everyone was using and came across some ebay stuff but it did not look thick enough. I want some cushion since the cut is not perfect across the top it will hide where I can't cut/sand a straight line.

This is what you want for the bottom- or something similar...

That is exactly what I was looking for. Not quite the right size though but a quick search on flea bay for rubber seal bulb foot and came across this.

Trim Lok Lock Seal Bulb Side Door Rubber Trailer camper RV per Foot | eBay

Hopefully the channel is not to large for the new fairing. It might be 1mm off for 3/16 wood but with paint and plasti coat to come it may be just right. If not I can fix that easily. The bulb foot is 12mm which should give me enough cushion and fill for the bottom edge without really sticking out up there.

That, along with the clear film I found that you posted on another thread should fix me right up.

No problem! Don't worry about it fitting, you can crimp the edges a little to make it fit tighter.
