Had a 2009 (Gen IV), have a 2011 and a 2013 TE. Yes, we'd get another one. Like other said, not a lot under the hood for towing, but for me that's not needed.

I've got gap insurance, so with any luck, it will get totaled by some freak act of nature. Then I could buy a new one without financing in the negative equity from my last car.

If I were buying again today - I might be inclined to look for a clean used LC200. Mostly because gas is $1.50/gal. I bought the 5th gen over the LC200 because in large part 20mpg>> 13mpg. If the LC200 or GX gets a nice engine upgrade to better mpg I might go that route next time. Or a 1st gen 4door Taco with a GM 5.3 sounds kinda compelling.

Sooooo not trying to hijack this thread but more out of curiosity, to buy again or not does off roading or simply pavement manners driving your decisions?

I'm a weekend warrior at best and drive more then 400 a week from time to time. I would say for me more power is wanted not cause she's slow but for those once and a while heavy head on winds that makes the runner stay in 4th gear or those Colorado type hills etc. besides that I do not see any other vehicle out there that gives us such a good mixture of size, off-road , on road , interior room etc

I would NOT buy another 4Runner.

Lack of power being the #1 concern. And the Navi is just God awful. For a lethargic V6, you would think gas mileage would be quite a bit better. As it stands, I average about 17.5 mpg which is just terrible.

My '15 will be traded in once the 2017 Raptors can be ordered I'll still be in a V6, but atleast she'll have close to 200+ HP more!

Same as most other posts... Which explains why I have owned three... '07, '11, and '14 TEP. My TEP is over-kill to say the least. I'm surrounded by concrete and work 60+ hours a week. But I'm practical, have small kids, and a job that doesn't allow for excuses... Which means reliability and capability are a must (read: we don't plow roads in TX when in snows/ices... We just wait for the sun to come out... Until then, you're f----d unless your car/truck can deal with it). The Runner pretty much outshines everything on the road when all this is put together as a whole. There are others that may look sportier, ride better, and/or have cooler gadgets.... There always will be. But my Runner looks pretty darn good to me, starts up every morning, and hauls around my Fam and work stuff just fine. That's enough for me. No regrets... And yes, will prob just end up in another one!

I've owned a 1994, 2001, and today I'm picking up a 2016 TEP. So yes!
My dad had a 1995 for 20 years and just got a 2006 V8 Sport. My sister has a 2002 and my younger brother is getting my '01. I imagine we'll be buying 4Runners until they stop making them.

I would buy again, but would likely just pick up a Trail Premium w/o kdss.

I'm never going through the pain of ordering from Toyota again just to get KDSS. I love it, but I'm not playing that waiting game again. And I'd like to have the Faux-Leather seats and other doodads now that I have a puppy...plus the weather is nice right now, and a sunroof would be cool to have. Might have to lower my seating position though.

Color... That's the tricky bit. If they offered in a Forest Green, or Salsa red again, I'd consider changing. Salsa trails are the shiz!

Most definitely would buy again. Of course I have always wanted one, not sure what took me so long to get one. I had a LR Discovery and an Infinity QX4(pathfinder) before. the 4runner is a mix of the two for me.

I was regretting a little getting the SR5 at first just because I was missing some of the features in the other models but I needed that third row. I no longer regret my choice because I know I will eventually have all the goodies I want on it. Thanks to this great forum I am pretty comfortable making this thing my own over the next couple of years.

I am always excited to go for a drive. Even if it is to take my wife mall crawling.

It's funny that a lack of power and fuel efficiencies are reasons people would not get another one...

Both issues could have been found during a test drive or by reading the Options list on the window...

The thing is the same size as a 100 LC and gets better mpg... Albeit tows 1500 lbs less

I don't get all these under powered comments. I have a 97 with 180hp and I would say it is a bit underpowered, but it does the job. I would think have another 80 HP would be a huge difference.

Yes I would buy another. But at this point in my life, I had my 97 for 16 years and bought a 2011 and if I have this one for 16 years I'll be 67 years old so by then maybe I'll go with a Highlander??????

You need to be coming from a vehicle with more power than a 4Runner to "get it." To me it's fine because I haven't had a vehicle with more power than this since the '80's.
