Wrecked

This is after my brother went tree hugging:

It is now mostly fixed and running. We did all the work and some of the stuff we already had like the bumper off my '98 but it was drivable for WAY under 1g. Like yours the radiator support and radiator were smashed in up against the fan, airbox was broken at the mounts, headlights were broken at the mounts, cross member that the skid attaches to was rip off.

Got a cheap used hood(same color as my '98), bent the supports back out, new koyo radiator, new headlights, the bumper off my '98, and I welded a new cross member in for him. Completely drivable. All he needs now is a grill, and to get the hood color matched.

Point:
These things are TANKS!

Sad News

Well unfortunately, looks like the runner is totaled. Looks like i will be looking for another car.

fubar'd sad to see man, hope you decide to get another one stick with us here, you haven't done a ton of mods so it might be ok just to let the insuance comany have it, otherwise i'd say buy it back off them take your cool stuff off and part it out, you can get around 3-4 k fpr the parts alone of your willing to take the time to strip it, but honestly thats a ton of work and you earn it for sure with all of the craigslists posts and dealing with people for $30-40 parts here and there.....it all adds up though...either way good luck and i hope the search and getting everything sorted is easy for you, honestly i hate shopping for new cars takes me forever as i have to know everything about the truck before i plop my money down, haha

I smashed mine WAAYY worse than that and fixed it myself with no prior autobody experience.

Find a rolled 4Runner and steal its frontend parts. I bought a rolled 98 with a running V6 for $900. Fixed my truck and got a spare engine out of the deal!

A 110V welder, patience, and the internet will get that thing rolling in no time.

I had to cut off all the bodywork from the firewall-forward, weld in new front x-member and body mounts but she is good to go these days.

are you sure, it looks like the whole body is pushed a good 3 feet back from the frame, it's also hard to imagine that didn't tweak the frame in the process...i mean anything can be saved but i think that one is far from being worth it. imo

Yeah I'm sure... If you look you can see the innerfender/coresupport isnt tweaked back at the firewall... Just would need to do what I did and cut off everything from the firewall-up and replace it.

If the frame is tweaked at all, it'll very likely be just the frame-horns forward of the IFS cross-member, which can be easily straightened with a bottle jack and a little heat.
