I just want to thank you so much for willing to share this info. I was so sick of looking at this flashing light. I had to put black tape over it. Whoever designed this needs Flashing its rear redesign. Shorted the two wires together and works wonder. I even sign up for this forum just to thank you, cause its worth signing up to thank you. But still hates the engineer that designed this TPMS.

Mine is just over 12 years old, and TPMS is still working. But I'm ready with the fix due to the help here.
FYI my 04 Sienna LTD does have the TPMS but it works off the ABS sensor, if a tire is low it turns at a different speed and triggers the TPMS that way. There is nothing in the rims, maybe just tell the tire shop that is how it operates.

I did this mod a while ago, and it has worked perfectly until now. For some reason, the light will come on randomly and will stay on until I turn off the power. It happens at completely random times.

Did you use one of the 3m connectors on it? If so go back in and crimp it down again. Maybe swap it out for the next size down.

I just did this, also used a smaller RED T-tap connector (same type as original post) the little metal slots that cut into the wire are thinner as the wire is a small gauge. It worked fine but now I've noticed that my rear wiper isn't working... don't know if it's related or not, don't see how... but yeah.
edit: now researching, looks like it may be because I disconnected the battery, apparently you need to reset the rear window one-touch operation and then that allows the wiper to work, because the wiper doesn't work if it's not certain that the window is up.

Finally completed the fix. Bought a pack of 20 blue Scotchloks at the local NAPA store. Probably costed about $3 after military discount. I used a small drill bit to ream out the plastic stop inside one of the two channels in the Scotchlok. Was surprised by how small the wire gauge is as it's hard to appreciate from the photos. Triple checked to ensure I selected the right two wires. Scotchlok worked as advertised. Tested the dashboard before reinstalling the plastic cover to ensure all was good. Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. Like others have said, wish I had done this weeks ago.

Just did my '08 Sport Edition V8 - the TPMS computer is a dark green instead of the orange one in the photos of the '05, but it is molded with TPMS Computer right on it, so it is still a no brainer. It was a PINK with BLACK stripe and a BLACK with RED stripe (caps added for clarity). I just did a jumper wire on the plug itself (as someone already stated, the wire has to go into the small hole on the plug end) and left it unplugged and taped up.

This worked beautifully on my 2005 SR5. The TPMS just kept flashing and no one really seemed to be able to figure out why. All pressure sensors were checked out by the dealer and deemed ok (including spare). They were able to reset it, but within a week it came back on and kept flashing. Dealer started talking about needing to replace the car's ECU.
This bypass took me about 15 minutes and has resolved the issue. Just need to keep an eye on the pressures manually.
