Might help to define your price range, preferred mileage, options, etc.

150k is probably the ideal mileage range you want to buy in. Manual and Automatics were offered, Manual stopped in 2000, the V6 and I4 were offered, the V6 is far more common and then I4 was dropped in 2000. There is a buyers guide in the 3rd gen section, it is a sticky, I suggest reading it.

Perhaps the offer was not serious. You had a 7K buyer, although not in your range yet a buyer who might have come up some.
Its not appreciating in value, to the contrary its lost value. I don't see you getting anymore than your neighbors offer.
Either way, I'd get off this forum and go visit your neighbor.
