Did not know that. Are they not interchangeable (despite aesthetic differences)?

Mine is a 1998 SR5, oak interior.

They are not. 96-97 has no SRS, 98 is by itself and does have SRS (depending on production date), then 99-00 has a different type, and 01-02 is different from that.

Confusing isn't it!

Do you have your production date handy? To further complicate it, there is a split in June of 1998. If you have a July-later production date, I have a belt for you. If not, I don't have one and you have to find one from 10/97-6/98
 
Wow that's just absolutely disgusting. Thanks for the heads up though!

Unfortunately my 4Runner has a build date of 05/1998. I wonder if the belt can be disassembled and rebuilt. Essentially, my belt has started to fray significantly.
 
Hmmm...how sure are you about this? I did some digging around and all model year 3rd gens seem to reference the same part number for the driver's seat belt assembly. 73220‑35471‑E0

Edit: nevemind...I used another part search engine and there does infact seem to be multiple parts for this assembly depending on model year.

Ever find your seatbelts? I have a 98 that I'm parting out with the oak interior and I have all the seat belts.
