Guys,

My wife got into an accident and totaled our Subaru wagon. I sold my '99 4R a few months ago, and I think we're going to replace the Suby with a 4R.

Looking for a 99-02, auto, 4wd. Price range is sub $8k. Bonus points for leather interior, a recent TB service, and sport package or locking diff. Would like to be as close to 100k miles as our budget will allow. Needs to be well cared for.

This will be the family car, so don't want something highly modified. I'm looking for exactly what I had, only for less than eight grand :)

Let me know what you've got, or if you see anything on Craigslist, etc. I'm in PA, but willing to travel for the right deal, or ship if needed. Cash in hand, rental car goes back on the 18th, so we'll be buying before then.

Guys - thanks for the info. Still on the hunt though...

Definitely set on a '99-'02. Want to keep the mileage as close to 100k as possible, and can't imagine being able to talk myself into anything over 150k.

I don't know whether you are still looking or not, but I thought I'd do what I can. I'm all the way in Reno, NV so I'm not sure how you feel about that. I don't have a 3rd gen 4runner, but I've been looking at craigslist and I found a few ads. They are priced a bit more than you asked, but it might be worth seeing what you could get. I don't know anything about them other than what it says in the ad, but here you go:

LRC - thanks for the message and for posting those links. I checked them out quickly and they are generally what I'm looking for. However, buying sight unseen from a few thousand miles away probably isn't going to work out!

I had a vehicle shipped from San Antonio TX to me in Central PA a few months ago and it cost $700. Would probably be twice that from NV.

I've been looking up and down the east coast, could get a cheap flight to Atlanta and drive it back home.

Summer, thanks for the message, superclean looking truck. No four-wheel-drive is a dealbreaker though.

Unless you can convince the weather gods to make it stop snowing in Pennsylvania, or my wife to move back down to Atlanta with me, we've gotta have 4wd !

No. I had to place a WTB in this forum. This thing was awesome. 1999 Black with 106k, one owner, clean carfax, full documented service. He was asking $6850. He sold it this morning before i could get my flight out. Now I am back to square one. Do you know who bought your old one from miles? I am about to reach out and beg to overpay for it...

Did you like either of those ads I posted? The one in PA is nice. I promise.

I actually tagged your user name in my post for wanting a 99 highlander edition. Gave people an idea of what I am looking for... Sorry about the short notice, but that thing was damn nice man.

I have an 02 silver sr5 4x4 auto. 123k. 285/75/16. Overall clean truck. No rust or accidents. I'm in Houston,Texas. Could also meet in baton rouge, louisiana. Ill probably be asking around $8000. Will know for sure by Wednesday.
 
Take a look at mine, seems to fit your criteria and I've priced it to sell. Never been in any accidents.

I'ts a 2001 and has a locking center diff and high/low 4wd. Leather, auto, V6, etc.

I think this story has a happy ending. On our way back from the middle of Virginia, picked this up for $4800 with 112,000 miles on it.

It's got a few bumps and bruises and the paint could definitely use some attention, but I think it'll clean up pretty nicely.

Check out my old one listed in the signature line below, sort of like déjà vu!!!
