for $8K you should certainly be able to find something nice
My budget was only $5K and I found something but I am going to do a fly and buy. but there are a lot of options when get to the $7k price range

Sorry, my better half has informed me that I'm not allowed to sell. I'm near Charlotte as well so I'll keep an eye on any that pop up around here. It seemed like most were either sold within 12 hours or are asking way too much for poor condition.
Like a lot of others on here, I did a fly and buy on mine.
Also, stay FAR away from the nice looking one at a used car lot in Asheville. Thing is rusted to hell and back.

I think I have found a good one. There was some rust, but nothing terrible. The one I am going to see is in Tn. 5-hour drive to get there, so I hope its what I am looking for.
Seller has been honest. But cell phone pictures only show so much.

I could meet you and let you look at it it, I would sell it for $8k I have it listed on craigslist for 9k it just had a service. timing belt, water pump, valve cover gasket, fuel filter, spark plug wires, spark plugs, and a Airaid intake tube. If you text or call me I'll send you pictures and give you more info.
