Just installed the led low beams in but I have a question? Did u guys stuff all the wiring and ballast in the housing and used the dust cover or did you just leave the dust cover off?

I would definitely suggest putting the dust cover back on.

No, thats the benefit of the flexible weave. They have a larger surface area which allows them to dissipate more heat. The fact that they are flexible means that they won't get in the way, and enable you to install the H11 LED headlight bulb without the heatsink getting in the way

apparently the 5500k is the closest to match the XB fogs

fog/auxiliary lamps (any kit, any lamp, any vehicle no

Same goes for "LED conversion" bulb kits. They are not a
legitimate, safe, effective, or legal product. No matter
whose name is on them or what the vendor claims, these are a
fraudulent scam. They are not capable of producing even a
fraction of the amount of light produced by the filament
bulb they supposedly replace, let alone producing it in the
right pattern for the lamp's optics to work.

My hids were set to arrive today. Fed ex driver didn't leave them. Didn't see any sig required on anything. Have to go way across town at rush hour to pick up later tonight. Lame.

Glad it could be such a good resource. Part of me hopes toyota pays attention to forums such as this to see what true fans really want, but at the same time i don't want them to take the fun outta modding.

So I just finished the install of the xtreme HID low beam kit and the LED Highbeam kit. I have a couple questions,

Are the high beams also the DRL?
And how long after I turn off everything will the lights automatically turn off? It has been about 4 minutes and these bad boys seem like there is no end in sight! I have the switch set to auto. Even hit the lock button. Nothing.


EDIT: After playing with it more it seems like I have no DRL now and that the lights never shut off..... What did I do wrong?

Did resetting it work for you? I am having a very similar problem.

Well after a 15 minute battery reset the auto function works again. But the damn DRL still wouldn't work. So I walked next door to my buddies house who has a 16 tacoma to troubleshoot. Well I am an idiot.

For the DRL to come on the damn parking brake has to be off. And the car must be in gear (not in the manual).

I can now safely say HOLY CRAP! What a difference! These lights are awesome!

I love it when I realize I'm not the only one who answers my own questions by way of recognizing the obvious after asking a ton of questions! lol! Glad you got it sorted, haven't done the high beams yet but they're next on the list. what color temp did you use? Have any pics?
