You know, I've only had them installed for about 2 weeks so I haven't spent a ton of time yet. But we are starting to get some rainy, foggy fall-like weather up here in Northern MN so I've fired them a few times. I can say that the light is good and yellow (obviously) and definitely functional...i.e. it helps cut through the crud. Certainly better than the factory bulbs. I'm assuming the yellow LEDs would be brighter but for $30 from XD it was a cheap experiment. At this point I personally see no reason to spring for the pricier kit.

Slightly related, I love the Philips HID kit as well but can't seem to stop from getting flashed by oncoming drivers. The truck is brand new so I'm assuming the housings are aimed properly, and a few quick novice tests on my part seem to confirm that (level line against the garage wall, etc.). I'm thinking of just putting the OEM halogens back in for now. If you're at all interested in the kit feel free to PM me. No worries if not and sorry to hijack the thread!

Need to know how to adjust headlights......

Cool, if you've lifted the vehicle just make sure to re-aim the headlights lower! I may have pissed off a few drivers at first...

Hi folks, I just installed my led's they are Vouke brand and put out 6000 lumens each, got them for everything, the fog lamps, low beams, and high beams and these babies are really bright, so bright that I'm not sure if they will be a problem with oncoming traffic. I've been trying to find out how to adjust the lamp housing itself in case I need to point them downward, they are in all of the housings with the led's pointing to either side not up and down which I've been told is the proper way for reflector housings, they are adjustable themselves using an allen wrench in order to rotate the tabs so the led's point either L to R or up and down. One company showed how to adjust the housing itself but I can only find one screw that looks like the one they used and there should be another but I can't see/find it, so if anyone knows where the adjustable screws are and which one is used to lower them I'd appreciate any info and or pics! The up/down adjustment is in the upper outside corner of the headlight. You'll see the gear teeth in the adjustment hole, just use a big phillips, park about 30' from your garage door, and start twisting. Cant remember which direction does what.

I can absolutely vouch for people flashing me in the 4Runner with the HID's and Phillips LED fog lights. I get flashed at least 2-3 times every time I drive it at night. Even going down the interstate and passing other vehicles with factory LED and/or HID headlights-it's amazing how much brighter the 4Runner headlights are. It is kind of annoying getting flashed, but I just flash my brights at them and keep on moving.

! A slight adjustment on your headlights down will stop the "getting flashed syndrome" and you will still have plenty light down the road...... !

That may be true, but it is absolutely impossible to have fog lights on with brights and they should know better. They flash me, I flash them back. Pretty simple if ya ask me!

its really not impossible to have fog lights on with high beams, they could have been modified or aftermarket fog lights, the other driver doesn't know.

what driver gets blinded by lights and thinks, "hmm, is this a logical situation" before deciding to flash their lights. flashing lights means "i can't see, your lights are in my eyes" it doesn't mean specifically that your high beams are on just that they can't see anything and are letting you know. if you have your high beams on its a reminder to turn them off, if you don't then its letting you know that you should take caution (maybe they are letting you know of a hazard) and then investigate your headlights. if it happens more than once, or if it happens after you recently modified your headlights (for example by installing aftermarket HID lights) then its your clue that you need to adjust your headlights

Well I screwed up! Was installing these last night and I snapped the clip that holds the oem headlight plug tight to the adjoining connector. Anyone have any ideas? I am thinking maybe a ziptie around the connectors to keep them together. :redbrick:

Decided to finally adjust the headlights the other night. No more getting flashed. Was getting very annoying!

its really not impossible to have fog lights on with high beams, they could have been modified or aftermarket fog lights, the other driver doesn't know.

How did you adjust them? In my previous ride (2007 FJ Cruiser), there was a screw I had to turn right behind the radiator grill. Where is the screw in the T4R?

There is a small cutout in the plastic shroud above the headlight, stick a large Philips head there

the brightness will be the same, the temperature is in regards to color. Blue-er light does bother other drivers more than light that is more yellow because of a few reasons, but at 5000k you won't be annoying cheap wal-mart light blue so you'll be fine, just adjust you headlight aim. the 4300 is close to the temp of factory HID lights (they look almost exactly the same as the bi-xenons in my HID) but 4300 is a bit more yellow than something like white LED lights

Just put in my order a few minutes ago. Went with the philips 4300. Wasn't sure what to get for the fogs so I'll just do more research and get those later. Any recommendations that would match or look good with the 4300's?

There is a screw right above the headlight that goes down through the plastic cover. I used a broader head screwdriver but it's actually a torx bit or something of that nature. It was just hard to estimate how far to go. I put a line on my garage door for factory setting and just put them down an inch or so at 5ish feet away(definitely not scientific) but it seems to be about perfect. Not blinding people sitting behind them at stop signs but still throws out a lot better than stock for sure. No more getting flashed when not expecting it.
