Hey Guy's,

I'm going to order Philips 43k HID Kit as well for my 17 TRD PRO, do i need to buy canbus as well? or it should work fine without it?

You don't need it. Will have to adjust beams probably after though. I was blinding everyone.

High beams - needs canbus
Low beams - does not need canbus
Fog lights - does not need canbus

A quick read through this and I didn't see anything about the relay harness. I just purchased the Xtreme HID kit 4300K and am wondering if I need to use the relay harness or if I'm fine without it.

No need for relay

There is no need for a relay harness. You can get enough power for the ballast directly from the plug.

You can put the lights to full off position and keep car turned off when disconnecting and connecting the plugs. No need to disconnect the battery.

One last question. Do I need to reverse the polarity on the wires and if so which ones and how many? Hopefully this will be easy and I can get the lights installed in just a bit.

Lights are installed and working fine. Now to take it for a ride tonight and see how big of difference there is over stock.

The first main difference is the brightness as the HID kits will be brighter than the LED kits. But they both have their pros and cons in other areas.

What were you looking to get out of the upgrade?

Mainly I don't like the look of the halogen bulbs and the LEDs seem to bright enough for my taste. What would you say the Pros of the LED are over the HID?

I actually think I'm going to go HID for the lows after reading this thread. What do you recommended with the HID philips 4300k kit for the fogs in the LED kits?

If you don't like the look of halogen, 4300k might not be for you. I have them and they are way more yellow with a greenish tint to them than I was expecting. The green is what really bothers me about it. I don't think I've given them the full 100 hour break in for the color shift yet, but I am considering swapping them out for some 5000k bulbs sometime in the future.

That's also why I went with them. Strange because I had a set of 4500k bulbs from another supplier on my old Tundra and thought they were too blue. Vastly different from one another. Might have also been due to projector color shift vs reflector in the Tundra as near the cutoff line in the 4Runner is the majority of the green and warm tones.
