Yakima Mega Warrior

Question on the Mega Warrior. Can someone who has one please measure and see what the height from the side rail to the top of the highest point of the rack is? Searching the internetz tells me the height dimension is 6.5" tall. The distance from the side rail on my 4R to the lowest point in the garage is about 8.5". So I have about 2" fudge factor. It's a wee bit tight but it may fit (insert thats what she said joke here). I'd like it to fit without having to remove the rack. Thanks in advance.

I have the smaller Load Warrior. I believe only difference is the overall width. The heights are the same. I measured my as I fit in the garage now and just bought a 3" lift. Anyways. I get 7" from the point on the bracket where in connects to the roof rail to the top of the roof rack tube. Hope this helps.

Yes that helps me thank you! Do you like your load warrior or do you wish you got the bigger one? Just curious, I am going back and forth between the two...

At times I wish I had a bigger one. :p For my current needs when I go camping/fishing it works just fine. I do have the extension so the length has been extended. Plus I secure my fishing rod tube to the side of the rack. It kind of sits on the stock rail side. Works great.

I bought the standard Load Warrior because the Mega warrior seemed too wide for the 4runner. It is wider than the factory roof rack, and extends beyond the factory roof rack which seems awkward. Here are some shots of the load warrior without the optional extension.

I only put it on when going on offroad trips. Otherwise, the rack messes with air flow from the moonroof. Without the rack, I can crack the rear window and open the moonroof to get that classic 4Runner airflow through the rear window and out the moonroof. With the rack in place, air can't escape the moonroof anymore.
