Yet Another Build Starting: My Boy Bleu

Anyone need an ARB rack? I test fit my new RTT & it is going to be too tall to fit under my 7'9" carport, especially when I take it up a couple more inches. I'm going to need to with the Touring rack if I stay ARB....

Got the awning deployed for the 1st time in 20mph winds today. Unruly bastard, but once set up and anchored was solid...

Ordered a SSS rear bumper. Now just have to wait for all of you group buy knuckleheads to get out of my builds way... ;)

How do you like the Demello X Wings? Recommend them?

Are you going to adjust the BP51 coil spring top preload? They are shipped to compensate for extra weight on the front (steel front bumper & winch)
 
I just can't get onboard with the looks of the X wings. They look stout though! The OMEs on the other hand are a thing of beauty!
 
Thanks guys. I went with the X-wings because of the extra surface are to double as a step to get to the roof rack. Monkeying around on a tire to unzip a rooftop tent sucks. They're definitely... different & I'm coming around on them as far as liking the looks.

As far as the BP-51s go, that is exactly why I bought them over my usual Kings. They'll allow me to adjust (on the 4r) to the same ride as I add heavy crap to it How easy it will be is another question...
 
I like the ride so far, but the rear is stiff with the 889s. It will be until I get the bumper in from Southern Style. If you're not doing a bunch of weight in the rear, go with the standard springs...

I got a decent deal from Main Line Overland. Good dudes
 
I'm not even looking to lift it, so my plan is to stick with the stock springs. I am just looking to improve the off road ride quality. And was considering this setup or going with ADS coil overs with clickers to adjust the compression feel.

OP, looks like your build is off to a good start!

Any feedback on how easy or hard it is to adjust the BP-51 front/rear compression and dampening with the spanner wrench? I'm looking at these and looking for some user feedback on how easy or hard this is.

The BP51s probably aren't the solution you're looking for up front, since they don't seem to sell them in any config except for the full set. The rears would definitely help though

Thanks. I haven't gotten to the point where I want to mess with the dampening & rebound yet. The front rides great with the OEM settings & I'm holding off on adjusting the rear until I get the bumper on & the springs have settled a bit. Will definitely post it up when I do though...

Here ya go. In the last 5 days, the 889s have settled an inch to 41 & the front is right at 38, on 295/65/18s... I'm guessing when I add the tiregate bumper weight + drawers, the back will squat to 40 or so & the front will come up 1/2".

Thanks for the update!!! I think you're right about the added weight transferring load from the front and shift it towards the back!

Are you happy with the way it rides and responds?

The ride in the rear sucks, but that'll last until I get that bumper on.

The front is improved dramatically: No more braking nosedives & it sucks up bumps comparable to the kings on my Tacoma. I'm out of town a bunch this month, so it will be a while before I can stretch it out a bit offroad
