Yet another headlight blackout thread (sort of)

Before everyone tells me to use the search function, believe me I have. It's probably here but I'm not able to zero in on it.

Has anyone painted their headlights anything other than black? Ever since I first saw pictures of gaterose's white T4R when he had the gunmetal rims, I've been convinced that is my personal favorite look. I was thinking it might look good to make the gunmetal a theme - basically taking all the chrome and painting over it with gunmetal. This includes the headlights.

Can anyone point me to a rig with a headlight blackout using a color other than black? Or tell my why it's a bad idea?

i use gunmetal all the time.. never used black..always thought black was too dark. i dont have pictures of the build tho. pix of after build..

I actually prefer gunmetal as well. To me, it adds a little more depth than black.

Thanks, that looks pretty good. You wouldn't happen to have a picture or 2 that is closer up would you? And what's the exact color/brand you used?

I've actually been thinking about doing that myself, I almost did it when I had those rims but never got around to it.. Recently, I used some smoke plastidip to make all of my badges gun-metal-ish and I've thought about doing my wheels too but been too lazy. I'm not sure about the headlights though...

I too would like to see some closer pics of v8 4wd's lights.

cant remember exactly which color or brand - but it was one of kragens automotive gunmetal spray.....honestly - if i were to do it over again - and i prolly will - i would use the lightest gunmetal i can find, i sometimes think even gunmetal is a bit too dark.
