The behavior of people in these situations is always the same... they think there is some way they can get the vehicle unstuck/extricated from the pond.

Dude can make a phone call just as easily from the relative? comfort of the Denny's and not have to stand in the rain.

It's going to be a while before that car goes anywhere.
