I had a bunch of mix & match 1/2" sockets & wrenches of varying quality, some were 12pt. :-(

Last Aug my awesome GF got me this for my B-Day. :humble:

I saw a video and the guy said to spool the sockets on a regular copper electrical wire in rising size order and then twist tie the ends. Way less space. So I tried it. Seems to work way better than randomly throwing them in the tool bag.

Back when I was in college my girlfriend went to Sears and got the 350 piece Craftsman set for mine. I was stoked, and gave more attention to them than her.. Still happens to this day....:crazy:

I used to do it this way, twisted ends would hang on stuff and untwist. So I grab some extension springs diff dia for 1/4" 3/8" 1/2" drive. Cut to length for the number of sockets you want in that bunch, 1/2" drive I put 4 per spring, 1/4" 8 per. I put a flat washer on one end as a stop, a mini carabiner on other end, they can be daisy chained also.

Can't at the moment, toolbox is 7500 miles away had to go to work for a bit.

Think of it like putting a key on a split ring, a split ring can be used in place of washer. Bend a couple end coils of spring at a right angle to body of spring put split ring on. Cut the spring to length for number of sockets you want on that string, bend couple end coils attach carabiner. You don't put any tension on spring, just enough length to install carabiner. Hopefully this helps. Works well for trail bag, not something I would use in shop box, your box works for me.

Ordered this on Monday night from a place in the UK. And got it this afternoon. Can’t wait to shoot some color through my new mini gun this weekend. It’s an ANI R150 with 1.0mm tip. Got excellent reviews and is significantly cheaper than similar ones from the big names. Also the regulator first impressions blow my DeVilbiss ones away and I haven’t even used it yet.

Used my AST funnel kit today. I've used it a few times now and it's great. Some nooks and crannies to clean when you're done but it's all clean oil.

Snap on ratchets 1/4, 3/8, 1/2
Dewalt 20v brushless 3/8 - 1/2 impact gun
(Yes they are stronger than snap on I have both)
Snap on 1/4 14.4v impact gun and ratchet
Snap on 3/8 14.4v impact ratchet
And snap on wobble plus extensions.
All my daily go to tools.

Ok, new suggestion for a specialty tool which could save your life...
The Vise Grip Locking Wrench has saved me several times with rusted and partly rounded bolts. It just saved my @$$ with a frozen bleeder screw on my front caliper. It was beginning to round off as I pulled. I stopped turning with my flare nut wrench and grabbed the Vise Grip Wrench. It turned the bleeder screw to break it free and I finished the job.

Nice gift! I'm starting to love Tekton tools. I got a great set of their 3/8" drive sockets and ratchet for Christmas.

haha, that 1/2" set was for my b-day & I also got the matching 3/8" for Christmas from her too! It's nice having everything in one case. I've done a lot of research over the last few years & Tekton looks to me to be the best quality for the money out there. It's all I buy now. Most, if not all of the cheap stuff is made in China where as the Tekton is made in Taiwan to a higher quality. Even the not so cheap Craftsman, Kobalt & Huskey are all made in China. Forget about the Harbor Freight junk. I do have 1/2" Impact sockets from Stanley that were cheap but awesome though. I've put them through NE rust removal hell & they've been rock solid with my Dewalt 1/2" impact.

ive always loved air tools but for the last couple of years ive just been using cordless tools mostly dewalt and milwakee but by far my favorite specialty tool is this tool for loosening and tightening crank shaft and cam shaft pulley bolts. The "holder" also holds drive line flanges such as diff, transfer, trans and drive shaft.

it's a sst toyota tool that I bought about 12 years back.this tool is a beast it's a toyota tool comes with multiple bolt lengths. and I can do the timing belt by my self in about 2 hours.

new favorite tool. Tracing electrical circuits and testing devices is so much easier now - Power Probe. You can check if a wire is hot, positive, negative, provide + power to energize something, provide ground to something. What a great tool for electrical work on rigs..

If you want to stock up on gear oil now is the time to do it. Home Depot has Lucas 75-90W on clearance for $3.53 a bottle. Get em while you can....

Haven’t gotten many tools this year due to a hernia and a broken hand and dislocated shoulder but now that I am almost back to 100% I hope to put this little Milwaukee impact to much more use. If anyone has been on the fence about buying an impact, or needs ideas for Xmas, this one would be my first unless married to another cordless tool line:

Recommend a welding shield

I'm in the market for an upgraded welding shield, can anyone recommend any auto darling ones they like in the $50-$75 range? I know about the hf ones, but wanted see if y'all had any hidden jems or wether I should increase my budget? I weld a few times a month on a flux cure Lincoln, but I'm planing on Getting gas for it soon. Thanks
