Your thoughts on this rear lower control arm bracket / undercarriage?

Hi everyone,

I'm narrowing my search on a 4Runner and would like your opinion on the undercarriage of this rig. I'm looking for something with as little corrosion as possible to bring back to the rust belt where I'll rustproof it with some Fluid Film or something similar.

I'm mainly seeking your thoughts on the section where the rear lower control arm bracket meets the frame in the picture below. Does everything look normal there? I know this area is prone to rotting and just want some expert eyes to give me the "all clear" before I proceed (I am aware it's missing the spare tire!).

Looks pretty good from the pics. I believe some on here say to poke inside those holes where the control arm meets the frame attempting to see if there's much rust from the inside of the frame going out. I'd hammer a bit on it from the outside just to listen for any debris/rust banging around and to get a feel for it's solidity.

But based on what can be seen everywhere else, looks pretty clean to me (and I'm from central texas where we expect our vehicles to be really rust free).

I'd say it doesn't look bad for your area.

That is a steal. I would buy it without a second thought. Grab a few cans of Fluid film and spray down everything you can and run it. I just did this yesterday. :nod:

FYI Might wanna ask the PO abt the rear axle seals and if they were done or not cuz if not then you will most likely end up doing them. It's not a cheap repair if taken to a shop.

They don't seem to be leaking in the picture.

I second what everyone else is saying, looks really good, just douse it in Fluid Film after you buy it

Not bad at all.
Look closer between the muffler and that bracket.
Picture is deceiving, but looks like a crack or weld issue there.
