Zachpins34 Build Thread

I have to say I was a little jealous of your 4runner after we lifted it yesterday. It looks awesome and the back will settle. Looking forward to the next mods.

Lol im a bot. beep boop beep.

Those corner lights look great man. When I saw the picture of them all orange, I must admit, I thought they were going to look sh!tty but definitely not with that black.

Put the corners on. Yes, dirty... Gonna look much better after a wash/wax and front bumper.....soon :)

Update: 11/29/15

Finally got the chance to put on the Tundra Brake Upgrade (231mm re-manufactured NAPA calipers/OEM rotors/OEM pads/shims/Synthetic Dot 4 fluid). Very happy with this mod. Wasn't exactly a necessity as my brakes were fine, but it does stop much better, without having to let off and reapply like I sometimes normally would. Will Also come in handy when wheeling and pulling a trailer.

While I was in there, I pounded away at the pinch weld, in prep for 285's within the next few weeks.
Hope I didnt split it too much up there...

Initially planned on a 1.5-2" BL and some 35's, but tires were getting way too bald for comfort...especially with all the rain in Humboldt.

The 285's will work for now. Fills out the wheel wells better than the 265's did. Havin some fun in the snow on the way to Chico, from Humboldt.

Looking great, Zach! I really like those Ivan Stewart wheels with the 33's.

When is the FMU? That has been in your sig forever!

Thanks Jim, I appreciate it.
Oh man.....I have had that FMU sitting in my closet for years now...years!

It has been too intimidating for me to commit to the install. Don't have a long wire for the external temp sensor....not sure which kind of wire to buy...Haven't found a good oak colored spray paint...Sounds like a new years resolution....
Install the FMU :)

I will if you will, I've had one in the garage waiting for almost 2 months I think.

I know, I know...not 4Runner related, but have been too juiced about this thing!

Was back in the Bay Area last weekend and got to ride again! (Still haven't left my neighborhood....waiting to be more comfortable on it).

Update: 07/20/16

I've been living in Humboldt County with the girlfriend since I graduated from Chico in 2015. One more year to go in Humboldt. So many 4Runners up here! Anyone from the forum up this way?

Took this with my iphone the other day @ Redwood Creek, in Orick, CA.

Was intermittently dieing after starting...and idle wasn't too stable. For the first time I removed and cleaned both the throttle body, and the IAC (Idle Air Control...located on the bottom side of the throttle body). Also seemed like a good time to change the spark plugs and wires (both NGK plugs and wires). Runs much better now.

Cleaned out quite a bit of carbon around the edges.

Oh, and finally in the 200k miles club. Gas gauge is funky, so I've been filling up every 215 miles using the trip meter, and didn't get a chance to snap the almighty "200,000 miles" pic.

I did find oil in one of the spark plug chambers.....valve cover gasket issue, or spark plug gasket within the chamber? Need to get that resolved ASAP. Has been feeling like I lost some power within the past few months.

That daily Humboldt fog - out on the Jetty.
