What bilstein do you have?

Non adjustable ones. They're the same ones that Toyota puts on their trail team edition fj's.

It's hard to explain but...

... pictures would make it easy.

It has two different clamping mechanisms on the top and the bottom.

The top has a plate that just slides on to the top of the hatch about 1-5/8" from the weather stripping. The ladder is hung from this plate with two bolts which are tightened at the very end of installation.

On the outside of the lower hatch, the ladder attaches with adhesive tape, then is clamped on by the lower clamp.

The lower clamp has a C channel that wraps around the lip and clamps onto the lip with two 1/4" set screws.

There is also an aluminum backer bar that it clamps to so it doesn't touch the paint on the inside of the lip.

Bastone, thanks for the compliments! Its taken me 3 years to get it to where it is now. Its finally to the point that I'm running out of stuff I want to do to it lol.

Hell, maybe we were separated at birth ha ha. Can't wait to see how your build turns out!

Lol, it's true. I'm running out of stuff to do. The big things I want are a front bumper and wheels but thats not in the cards right now.

haha I hear ya, It sounded as if you had done everything you wanted to do. I'm there with you the only other thing I'd like to get done is some armor and a winch up front but those fab guys sure do like there metal

Aha, yeah for sure. I actually had a picture of you on my dash that i talked to the whole time so we could wheel together all day..... Hahahaha
