Well I did it this time. Doors stuck closed for good.

So I bought new power door locks motors a year ago and replaced the front ones. I decided I should replace the back ones finally and be done with it. When I had everything apart I unscrewed the end latch that hold the door shut. I forgot to line up the piece that pulls it to unlatch when the handles are pulled and then I closed the door.

Basically all the pull rods are connected right and everything is together but they just don't unlock and allow the door to open because something internal isn't lined up. I might have just killed my rear passenger door or i will be driving something out.

If I get the inside panel off with the door closed i still can't remove the locking mechanism since it bolts in from the outside :doh::ybrick::ybrick:

I thinking my best option might be to try and get behind the door panel from outside and drill out the bolts holding the locking rod connected to the body?

Then the door will at least open.

Why not just drill out the handle? That should give you access to the locking latch. I've never had to do it to our rigs but have done on other rigs. If you lift the handle you'll see two round stud ends. Those are press in and threaded on the other side. Two nuts should hold the handle to the door in the inside. Drill out those two studs and the handle comes out. If done carefully you should be able to fine matching studs at the hardware store and re-use your handles.

The problem is its internal. nothing I grab or pull will unlatch it. If you imagine the handles making a little bar on the inside slide up and down moving the plastic latch. well if the bar isn't in the right place to move the latch it will just moving around connected to nothing. I need to take apart the lock unit and get it lined up properly. But the only way i know how to take it apart is with the 3 screw on the inside of the door which I need the door open to access.

Look at your handle in relation to the latch catch. Once the handle is gone you have a roughly 2" x 5" opening to get at the latch mechanism. You can slide a screw driver in there and move it up(open). To be clear, I'm talking about the outside door handle.

Yea I know what you saying. Ill try and get you picture of something. you can't even access the latch from anywhere. You have to take apart the unit first. Like if the handle and inside panel was gone there is nothing you can grab and move to make it open.

Well I did it this time. Doors stuck closed for good.
