96 and 97 3rd gen 4Runner wiring diagrams and partial service manuals

I was curious how I should go about linking files for 1996 4runner wiring and some service diagrams. I know as an early model owner most resources you find are for later models where the wiring can change significantly between years. even the prodemand and all data diagrams are for a 2000 4runner which is of no help to me. so I downloaded a bunch of 96 and 97 wiring diagrams a while back straight from Toyota and would love to help you all

The issue with the wiring diagrams and service manuals is Toyota is extremely protective of their Intellectual Property. How I got everything I wanted, was to buy a set of Service manuals early years.. Then a set late years used off eBay. For the Electrical wiring diagrams. I got a weekend subscription a few times gather all of the other information I wanted and needed. As its all available via TIS. Even the classic information as all 3rd gens are. Toyota has been known to send letters and have the information taken down in other groups and webpages. So that is why you mostly see just bits and pieces.

This is exactly what I did to put '97 4WD parts into my '99 2WD. I was able to update/move all the '97 4WD specific wires to the correct spots that were missing on my '99 harness.

I already had the printed '99 FSM and wiring diagrams, but downloaded the '97 and '99 digital versions for easier referencing and searching.

Yup. People need to realize not everything is free. If they do it that way. They legally own the right to use them. If they just copy someone else's or off a google drive etc. Its just a matter of time before Toyota will sue the person sharing it.

A weekend pass is fairly reasonable. That is how I got my sienna vans 07, 10 and My 09 Tacoma diagrams. Plus if people don't think Toyota will not do that or it couldn't happen to you think again. They will do that to protect their property. FSM in the 3rd gen years your better off having in book form anyway as they quit books in the mid 2000s to all digital form.
