Webster Pass 9-22

Great fall run into the Aspens with 4 3rd gens, 3 4th gens, 1 5th gen and a Tundra up Webster Pass in Colo.

I'm not sure of T4R.org user names other than 4-Ripcord so if you know others, please "mention".

Moab - Hells Revenge Oct 8, 2016

A few shots from Hells Revenge in Moab...what an amazing trail, T4R's have amazing 4x4 capability, and I was amazed I didn't crap my pants!!!! I was too busy shaking (lol) to take a lot of pictures. My trail mate was in his lifted Rubicon with 35's and made it look easy!

1) Double checked tire pressure as we dipped below 20 degrees last night. All still at 35

2) Took 4 bike racks off and put 2 sets of ski racks on!

Moab fall 16

I just stumbled onto this pic from Moab. We (12 friends) started to set up camp. Made me think of warmer times, great friends, and all there is to do at Moab!

Looks like you've had some great adventures in some beautiful locations. Definitely going to keep checking out your posts.

MTB in Feb???

It was 62 on Weds, and 73 on Thurs. this prompted a MTB drivetrain replacement, putting my hitch rack in place, and then going for 2 Feb night MTB rides? Mother Nature is confusing when you can ride wearing shorts, ride at night, and think it's summer in February living in the Mile High City!

Moab April 17

Time to play a little catch up with some photos from Moab in April 2017.

Mostly camping and MTBing, but a run on FNT was also in order. A little snow storm on the way closed I-70 at the Eisenhauer tunner for about an hour. Light snow graced our Sand Flats camp sight on Friday morning. A little MTB carnage due to a close encounter with a Juniper branch on the Great Escape: part of the Mag 7 trail system! I saw my my T4R being driven down Gemini Bridges Road, as I was climbing up the last hil, to be used as an EMS vehicle (I got ditched 'cause there wasn't enough room for me) to pick up the 6 riders and bikes + driver. Gotta' love adventures to Moab!

Jackson WY - June 2017

Mostly a family road trip to Jackson WY, but we explored Teton National Park and Yellowstone while we were there. Took a few pictures, but I wasn't able to get a good one of the Momma Grizzly known as "Blondie" or bear 793 and her 2-3 month old cubs! Took the bike rack off the roof and according to comp we drove 1331 miles and averaged 18.25 MPG!!! Not bad for a lifted 4th gen with a V8! Prob a little closer to 17.5 accounting for larger tires, but still pretty steller!

Black Canyon of the Gunnison

No off roading, but a great trip with family and friends. Of course I had to add a cursory pic of my 04T4R!

The views of the Black Canyon were amazing.

We hiked to the bottom (1800 ft straight the F down) and got a little closer to the river. The chain was needed to descend and ascend this "wilderness social trail" to the bottom.

Overlanding the Alpine Loop and more from 0818

I’m finally getting around to sharing some images from the top of 6 of the 7 high alpine passes > 12,000 feet that a buddy of mine and I crossed during our amazingly awesome overlanding adventure trip. We didn’t stop at the top of Red Mountain Pass as it was paved, so no picture to share. . I’ll try to add some scenic pics in a 2nd post, but what an amazing overlanding adventure we had!

We spent 4 days, 8AM on a Thursday to 8PM on the following Sunday, and went on 2 mountain bike rides, summited Handies Peak (14,058’), drove over 100 miles on off-road terrain, had tons O’ fun, and set up and broke down camp 3 times.

Day 1 - Drove from Denver and stopped at Hartman Rocks near Gunnison to MTB. Continued on to Lake City where we aired down to begin the overlanding adventure. We drove over Engineer Pass and set up Camp 1 at the top of Mineral Creek.

Engineer Pass - 12,800’
C5Lh0Jnl.jpg

Day 2 - Drove from Camp 1 and over California Pass, Hurricaine Pass and then over Red Mountain Pass en route to Blackbear Pass where shit got real! Lol. We aired up in Telluride and drove up to Alta Lakes to set up Camp 2.

Hurricane Pass - 12,730’

Day 3 - Drove from Camp 2 back into Telluride and went MTB. We aired down the trucks when we finished and drove over Imogene Pass (2nd highest drivable Pass in CO at 13,114’) into Ouray and then up Mineral Creek and then up and over Cinnamon Pass to Camp 3 at the base of Handies Peak.

Cinnamon Pass - 12,640’
mLrUJg1l.jpg

Day 4 - Summited Handies Peak and then we broke down camp and started the drive back home. We aired up just outside of Lake City and stopped for an early dinner at Amicas in Salida for some Pizza and a beer). We then turned our attention to the final slog home.

I’ve sarcastically named my 04T4R the sleeper because so many folks in Jeeps, many of which were probably rentals, who couldn’t believe I was talking my T4R on trails like these: particularly running over Black Bear Pass. My T4R only has a 3” lift, RCI sliders and no additional after market armor. The sleeper came home with minimal damage only noticed by a few scratches on the underside of her front bumper which occurred navigating the tightest of the switchbacks on Blackbear Pass.
