Applying Lexus drive shaft TSB to V6 4runner to get rid of clunk

Anyone tried applying Lexus drive shaft TSB to V6 4runner to get rid of clunk yet. Will it work for the v6 to get rid of the clunk noise, or do they have different drive shaft assembly. Anyone have the part number and a link to the Lexus TSB. Is it the whole drive shaft or just one part.

Just lube until it comes back then lube again.

The thing that annoys me about that TSB is that it applies to the GX470 only... which is frustrating because its the same damn driveline! I say we all flood Toyota with emails on the driveline clunk issue and make them make a new TSB!
 
i know this doesnt help much but i installed the tsb gx470 driveshaft more than 2 years ago and never clunk again. The shaft isnt that expensive either but i have a v8

Did you replace the whole shaft assembly or just the slip yoke
 
I have had my GX470 shaft for 2 months now. Perfect so far.

I just replaced the one part (propeller shaft).
 
I have been doing extensive research on this, and I think it SHOULD fit.

If you look here, PROPELLER SHAFT & UNIVERSAL JOINT. Fits: 4Runner | Village Toyota Parts

you'll see both the Toyota part (371106A440) and the Lexus part (371106A480) are listed as compatible with a V6 4-runner 5 speed.

According to the Lexus TSB from Sept '08, the old part is 371106A480 and the new one that fixes the clunk is 3711060A40

So the part we should be looking for is 37110-60A40. I'm tempted to buy it, but I don't want to be out $300 if it doesn't fit.
 
I had my oil changed Sat. and asked them to lube it and I still have the tump. I went round and round with everybody at Toyota and they where ass holes about this issue. Just want to add that I was let down as a customer. I've always thought of Toyota as an above average company, but after dealing with them on a couple issue I've realized that it's all about money in the end not the costumer. At first they would not acknowledge that they knew about the transmission bump, but after going round and round with them they finally admitted that they have known about this issue all along and have a name for it it's called "spring rap".
So in the end I'm disappointed in Toyota. Love my 4runner.

Again, this thread is looking for V6 owners who's problems wouldn't go away with adequate greasing, and went ahead and replaced with the Lexus driveshafts.

Those threads above, only contain v8 owners, there are no v6 owners that have replaced their driveshaft with the Lexus part, to my knowledge.

X2. Greased & gone on my '06 v8. There's one fitting that is the crucial one for getting rid of the clunk. Gotta throw like 15 or more pumps in there and gone.

Dealers likely don't usually toss enough in that fitting. I tried it first time with like 5 pumps and noise was still there. Got back under and loaded it up. Clunk gone for last 2k miles now.

V8 or V6 shouldn't matter. Like I said it has to be greased properly for the bump to go away, and it will most likely take a LOT of grease....

Sorry to bump an old thread, can anyone with the V8 confirm that the "new" updated part 37110-60A40 fits the V8 4x4 ?
