Unfortunately it didn't get dropped off today like it said it would because it went to the "wrong address" but I got to hang out with [MENTION=95206]10ac[/MENTION] though. I will get some pictures tomorrow though. But just riding around with his supercharged runner makes the FJ seem more like the turtle. I remember riding in a buddy's FJ(was his moms) and I just prefer the 4runner more. He's the one that got me from being a huge ford guy into a 4runner addict.

Yes I hate payments too- I figure I could get around 8500 for the 4runner and with a 13,500 ish loan payments would be around 250/month...not too bad. If the manual trans FJs were not AWD I would be all over one in a heartbeat. But doing my research the manual FJs seem to have trans issues. Ive just always liked having short wheelbases. I may just clean up the T4R tonight, snap some pics and toss her on Craigslist to see if I get a bite.
I did this once before with my 92 Bronco that I "restored", I put it on CL and the next evening a guy came buy and bought it. I was not expecting that and had to go buy another vehicle right away-
There is a 1999 T4R limited on CL here for 6k with 205k on the clock- looks to be in decent shape... Anyone who knows a 4runners would prob buy it but I think the 205k scares people off-
Since Im not in a hurry ill post at 9k and hold it out since it has brand new tires (3 weeks old anyway) brand new 2way remote start, new steering rack and the Tundra brake upgrade done last fall... Ill keep my DVD/Nav for the FJ if it sells---

Almost forgot, where are you getting superchargers/kit for 2k???? I even looked at SC for the FJ there around 4k. I checked URD and they didnt list one for the 4runner unless I missed it somewhere...
I also searched google and found a Toyota Dealer (in dallas maybe?) that sold a kit for like 2800 ish...

I have mixed emotions about the FJ Cruiser. I've seen some cool ones, but that paint scheme is wierd (white roofs on everything?) and they are really kind of ugly until you hang $5000 of junk on them (bumpers, racks, etc. - to hide the shape).

Also, you might want to check into this if you are looking at an 08. I think they have fixed this on the newer ones but this was apparently a common problem on the earlier models (someone on the thread said in 2010 they changed the frame).

Yes im pretty aware of the fender cracking/bulging. Seems like a hit and miss for the FJ. I feel its about the same issue as our 4runners frame/axle rust. they both have there sacrifices. There are some tricks to the fender cracking- You can pull the fenders off and weld 16g sheetmetal to support the area. I do a lot of welding and that is something I would keep an eye on...

Depends on the color for me. Im fond of the white ones with the white roof and the tan ones look good as well. The other colors dont look so good to me. They look retarded without the roof rack as well.

Or your could get an fj80 Land cruiser. Basically a bigger 4runner with more power. Or a 1st gen Sequoia with a 4.7 8 cylinder. Both would be cheaper than the fj cruiser. The fj80 can also be supercharged, though theyre much harder to find

The 80 may have a bigger engine but they are much slower than a 3rd gen. They weigh a metric fawkton. Also, good like getting more than 13mpg with an 80.

That being said, they are probably one of the most solid built Toyota SUV's.

Fj80s are cool but not exactly my thing. I dont really want "bigger". I drove that FJ and I liked everything about it but the underside was kinda rusty.. More than a 5 year old vehicle should be in my opinion. It also had some weird "mesh" in the front valence area that didnt look stock. Not sure what it was or who knows maybe it is stock:noidea:
I popped open one of the storage compartments in the back and the was a some remnants of debris in there. Not like dirt but like what I can only envision lake water (dried up) with bits of dried sea weed left over? Not sure but That little compartment should have had maybe a tad of dust at the most. That one was not for me I decided that I would only want a white one anyway haha. Anyway i still my jump onto the FJ bandwagon sometime but for know the runner stays.

The trail team edition FJ's have paint matched roofs. IIRC they are one single color per year.

Personally, I like the FJ, however I don't believe in buying something I can't afford to buy outright, nor something that is going to decrease to half its value before I finish paying it off. Also you can find FJ's up here routinely for 15k CAD, even though yours has low miles it really doesn't seem like that amazing of a deal.
