01' drum brake conundrum

Hey, everyone - Had a bit of a brain melter today. My brother and I went to replace the rear brakes and got befuddled. Got all new everything (shoes, hardware kit, parking brake kit, adjuster kits, wheel cylinders, drums). Everything was going fine until I was assembling the new adjuster kit. The starwheel mechanism and adjustment lever didn't match what I assume is the original parts. I can understand discrepancies in aftermarket fitment vs. OEM, but after hours of searching, these are the only adjustment replacement kits offered (couldn't go to the stealership on a Sunday). It's very difficult to search for these specific parts due to terminology. Everything looks like what I purchased is correct but it simply can't be because of the placement of the starwheel adjuster and lever complying with the access hole in the backing plate. Is this odd or specific to the 01-02 years? I searched different 3rd gen parts and it all came up with the wrong replacement parts. I stole a pic from BigFishAllDay's rear axle seal DIY for comparison. Any advice or experience with this?

I'd really like to but it doesn't look like it will work on the driver's side. We re-used the adjuster parts on the passenger side, they weren't too bad for some reason. Driver's side is pretty gnarly and rusty from the water and sand that was is in there.

This is the '02 FSM which is like BFAD's and my truck, as well as my '99 paper FSM. I don't know why yours are different. 15" wheels, maybe?

The plot thickens- No on the wheels. I've got 16" flower spokes. Thanks for the FSM PDF. Tried to download one last night but all the links were unsuccessful. Nevada, it's hard for me to deduce that my before pic is wrong when at least a few others have the exact same parts from the factory. Went to my local dealership this morning and ordered some parts. We were looking at the rear brake diagram with my VIN and it was almost the same as the '02 PDF. The star wheel actuator ($49) was oriented towards the rear (like mine) but the adjustment lever was mounted on top of the parking brake lever as seen on BFAD's. I simply can't put the star wheel adjuster on located towards the front because I wouldn't be able to access it through the port hole on the backing plate for adjustment. It doesn't make any sense. Well, I've ordered the star wheel adjuster, adjustment lever and spring. We'll check it out when they arrive and see what happens.

Well, I got my parts from the dealer this morning and they are a perfect match. No one seems to know why some of the parts are different. Anyway, for future reference here's the parts and #'s I got.

47644-35040 Lever, automatic adjuster 5.04
90506-14081 Spring, Tensioner 3.15

These parts are specific to the Driver's side FYI.
