'02 LTD issues

Hey all,

I recently snagged a '02 LTD and I have a few minor things I'm trying to solve to make it perfect:

1. I need to replace the turn signal switch (contacts are fubar'd for the right turn signal), I have looked through the BGB located at:

http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1996/SIL/fsm/repair.html

And can't seem to find the section covering removal/replacement of the switch, so I was wondering of someone here has replaced theirs already and can alert me of any quirks of the job...

2. Homelink - either I'm re****ed or my Homelink is busted. I can't make it pickup the signal from my garage door opener, even though the Homelink LED operates as described in the BGB when it successfully catches the garage door frequency.

Any help is appreciated.

Here's a pic of the ride at Carolina Beach:

No idea about the turn signal, never ran into that one before. As for the homelink the only suggestion I have is to look at your garage door opener. A friend couldn't get his 03 Yukon to program, he got to the same point you did. Looking through his manual it said some garage door openers have a programming lock out feature. Sure enough I got a ladder and there was a red button you pushed to allow it to be programmed. He's had no trouble for over 3 years now.

pat161 - you're spot on, there was a "learn" button on my garage door that I had to press before the 4runner would pickup the signal.

lookin good. im assuming your in NC or SC to be at carolina. My buddies and i camp out there for the majority of the summer. Do you have a season pass?

Look under the steering column category and you should find the diagrams for removal. Have you already tested bulbs, bulb sockets, fuses, and wiring? Is it the entire turn signal system, one side, or one signal light in particular?
