06 4runner V8 using 24F battery instead of 27F

Hi guys,
the manufacturer recommend using a 27F battery for the 06 4runner v8 but my aunt who doesnt know better had firestone installed an Interstate MTP-24F for her because they're out of the 27 group size. The guy there said the 24F is much better for the cold winter that MN has so they recommend it over the 27F which is a 2-4 weeks waiting period for them to get in. Should I tell her to get it back and exchange for a new 27F size? Or would it be ok since she doesnt tow or blast the radio on. Thanks

Should be fine, most 24Fs have very similar specs to 27Fs anyway. I'm running a 34R in mine, and there are plenty of people on here who run 24Fs without any issues.

Is there any real difference in battery sizes beside physical size? I mean, I have seen some 24F sized batteries out perform 27's...
