All Pro spacers have been installed. Wow, what an improvement...this is how these 4Runners should look right out of the factory. Reminds me a little of my '98
I installed them, drove 50 miles, and then re-torqued everything. I'm guessing the initial install went flawlessly because after 50 miles none of the lugs were loose (on the spacer OR the wheels). Anyways, everything is all buttoned up and I'm planning on checking them again after 200 miles just for the hell of it. Great excuse to drink beer and wrench.
Sidenote: I purchased thread locker but I don't plan on using it. As an engineer by trade, it just doesn't make sense to me to use it. What especially confuses me is the spidertrax recommendation of applying thread locker then checking torque after some time. Not only are there differences in static/kinematic methods of checking torque but the whole idea seems counter-intuitive. Checking the torque of a fastener held in place with high strength thread locker? Not wrapping my head around that one...
Also, I'd like to be able to easily remove them should I decide to get wheels with different backspacing someday. Somebody please correct me if I am completely wrong
I ordered the Gibson Catback Exhaust from Jason today....$284 shipped seemed like a fair deal. I purchased an AFE Prodry S air filter from him a couple months ago and the transaction was very pleasant.
