I recently bought a 4runner and now I'm ready to start nodding it out. I've done a ton of searches on how to lift my 97 and realized that tundra lift was the way to go. I know I need the yellow/yellow yellow/blue struts but I ended up get struts off a 06 4x4 trd tundra for free. Anybody know what kind of lift I should expect? I know the ride quality is going to be harsh.

Those are TRD coils from a Double Cab TRD Tundra. They will provide ~2" of lift on their own just like the yy/yb. I haven't seen any numbers, but people say they are a higher spring rate to account for the extra weight of the double cab. You can use them and they should be fine, but might be a bit more stiff.
I had the yy/yb with KYB shocks and they were fine up front. I had a bit more body roll than I liked even after switching to Tundra 5100's, but they were a solid lift for the price. You might want to get a top plate spacer to get closer to 3" if that's what you are going for.

As stated, you will get between 1 1/2"-2" of lift, depending on how old those are. As much as I'd like to tell you go ahead and install, I'm going to tell you not to. Those will ride soooo bad.

My advice is do it right the first time, even if it means it may take a bit linger to acquire the correct parts. You may try using Billy 5100s and seeing if the ride is ok, but if it sucks you'll be forced to take everything out and start all over with better springs.

Those are the coils/shocks Im running right now. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of lift, and yes, they are stiff. Way too stiff for my liking. Yet Ive been running them for almost 2 years now. Go figure. Im not looking to get the spark plugs though. Free info
Millerad1651 is the winner!! Thanks for all the advice from everyone though. I've decided to go ahead and throw the set up on and hope for the best. If anything its a free lift and it can't be as bad as spacers. It'll be a couple months before I get them on because I'm hunting some good lc coils locally before I try out buying online and getting mauled by shipping rates. I'll post again to let everyone know how they ride compared to stock and if I should've just waited for the right set hahaha. Thanks everyone.
