Driving to work this morning, no issues, listening to music on my iPod plugged into the aux port in the console. Disconnected when I got to work. This afternoon, came back to the truck to go home, turned on the stereo, controls light up, but no sound. Nada. Not from any speaker. No clicks, hums or any other sound, just nothing.
All of the other functions work. AM, FM, Aux, CD, just no sound.
This is an 07 SR5 with the factory AM/FM/CD/MP3/Aux stereo (no Bluetooth, nav, JBL or any of the other options.)
Seems like my amp is not working? Does this setup even have a separate amp or is it all in the head unit? My first inclination is to assume I need a new head unit (which would be OK, I've wanted to get one with Bluetooth, iPod controls, USB and maybe even a rear view camera) but I'm not going to replace it if there's a simple fix. Anyone else have this problem? Is it a known issue?
