07 Sulfur Smell

Has anyone had Toyota put in the updated cats and noticed a difference? I got them covered under the 80k emissions warranty but wondering if these updated cats are going to do anything at all.

Who knows. It is also well known that Cat's need to "age" and newer cats will smell more.

So...
Was the TSB just an appeasement to cranky owners, kinda a "fine, lets do something to make them happy"?
All they do is replace the cat's, supposedly to cats that have a different design, but that doesn't change the reality that newer cats will have a higher degree of the smell and it will taper off.

My truck has 115k on it and if I really floor it I will catch a wiff every now and then, otherwise; nothing. I am on original cat's.

Get used to the smell. Changing the cats does not fix the problem. Keep the rear window closed especially when accelerating hard!

I had the cats changed out and immediately noticed a HUGE difference. Day and night difference in fact.

Not to be too cynical, but I wonder if some of the dealers claim they switch them out but really don't??? Many people say that the dealers don't like to do warranty work bc the hourly rate is lowered or they a compensated less in some manner. Who knows.

I had my exhaust pipe turned behind the rear wheel and it solved the problem.

this helped me out also...go to any exhaust shop and ask that they turn you exhaust out to the side. 60-90 degrees will do you perfectly.
