10-13 front end on a 14' ?

It would not be a prefect fit because the light are different. I would just count on going aftermarket if you planned on changing it.

It may be just me but after seeing the '14 in person and now owning one, I can't stand the '10-'13. Toyota cut away the bottom corners giving it a more aggressive look and prob gives it a better approach angle. Plus, no chrome. It'll grow on you and you won't look back.

I'd trade my '10 SR5 for a '14 SR5 or TE in a heartbeat*. They improved the interior considerably and compared to the front, side, and rear skirts that my SR5 has, I'd much rather have the less hefty looking body of the '14 SR5. The only thing I don't like about the '14 is the roof rack. I liked the roof rack on the '10-'13 TE a lot more. I like the look of the '10-'13 TE, but I worry at how the unpainted fender flares will look in 5 years and they didn't offer one in white.

* This is assuming my 4Runner were totaled or something. It has been paid off almost 3 years and I just put new tires on it. I also only have 37k miles on it.

I'm with you on this one. I actually prefer to look of the front end on the '14.

I think the 2014's look great. I don't get the hate, but whatever. If you prefer the look of the pre-facelifted version, there are plenty of them out there, both used & new. I'm guessing maybe you want the new interior with the old exterior, but a retrofit would be stupidly expensive.

I just got a silver 14 trail premium and love it but just not a big fan of the front end. There were a bunch of reasons why I got 14 over 13. It's a lot of silver so I am thinking painting the fake skid plate black might help the looks plus adding a hidden winch in the front grill might help out.

I don't like the front-end of the 2014 trail and SR5 myself. this becomes clearer when you look at it from ,say, 20 feet or more away. However , up close its looks great actually.

the problem with the aftermarket grilles is that they are ridiculously expensive for the simple cosmetic look they give. anyway, I measured the lower grille on the 2014 SR5 and it is about 6" x 36". the $6 dollar gutter mesh at home depot that DIYs have suggested looks too frail-looking to me, and I heard they rust quickly(true ?). There is a woven stainless steel mesh that looks nicer with the exact same size of 6" x 36" at amazon, although I'm not sure how they look like up-close, and that is, if you like the stainless look. It is all a matter of personal choice as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That said, in this case I concur with your view.

It is just an opinion, but in my view, all these vehicles were beginning to look the same from a distance. I mean, if you want ugly, look no further than the new Jeep Grand Cherokee! They are all starting to look like a Ford!
The '14 4Runner TE, on the other hand, makes a bold statement. It says: "Here I am, and I mean business! I am not afraid to go off-road! Don't mistake me for one of those wannabe's."

Sorry to say it, but even Toyota was going in that direction. I for one am very pleased they changed course! I like the combination of angry/aggressive/purposeful on the snout of the new Runner!
