'12 TE questions

Hi everyone,
I've been tryingn to find pics of Trails interior but haven't had much luck. I have a few questions.
1. Does TE have dual zone temp control? Pic would be nice.
2. Does TE have push button start?
3. Pic of a Trail with running boards? Apparently the one I'm ordering comes with this option as standard?

I have been looking around and can not find a Trail on any lot to look at so I had to go out of state and order to get it in my color. Thanks.

Hi Clin. negative on the dual zone and push button. Not on the TE. someone here has pics of running boards on theirs I'm sure. it's an awesome truck though, good luck.

1 and 2 are on the Limited.

The running boards are a $1500 option. If you are truly ordering it, you shouldn't be required to get them. Besides, they will reduce ground clearance and aren't really fitting on a TE imo.

Toyota running boards for the Trail are in the $425 range. I picked up mine from the Toyota parts store for $319. They are excellent. Good fit and make it easy to get in and out and they improve the looks of the Trail. Highly recommended.

Should probably clarify with the OP... there are 2 kinds of running boards. Powered and regular. The powered ones are ordered with the vehicle. The cheaper ones are a dealer option I believe. They are $1500 and $437 respectively.

IMO Don't get running boards! Put the money saved towards a set of sliders, they are much cooler looking and will pull double duty as steps

Hi guys, thanks for the prompt response. Yea I figured the push button and dual zone were on the limited as I could not find a picture that wasn't for the limited. I am fine without those but they are nice to have. I asked the dealer if they can take off the running boards and take it off the price but they said no..so I have no option until I buy the vehicle and take them off myself. I'm pretty sure its not the motorized option, option sheet lists them as 437 dollars. I also tried to ask them to take off Entune as I don't really need it but again told they could not. Basically paying for 1400 dollars worth of stuff I dont need/want. Thanks again guys, will keep you guys updated when things finalize.

Dan, Ya I've had people complain about my 96 4runner being too high already so if I have them already, I'll keep them until they get destroyed unless I can sell them. Not sure how easy they are to sell.

They shouldn't be too hard to unbolt and sell. To be honest though if a dealer was forcing these options on me I'd tell them to pound sand. I know the TE is coveted and hard to find, but I'm not a fan of a dealer forcing options on me. I could almost understand the entune, assuming they already have it allocated in inventory. But I absolutely would not accept the running boards since they are a dealer option.

You mentioned you are ordering it. Are you actually ordering it for a future shipment or is it a vehicle that's already in port or in stock? If you are truly ordering it I would just find a different dealer.

Either way, enjoy the ride!
