'14 or '15 Limited with Trail Hood pics?

I have tried to no avail to find pics of anyone with a late Limited edition and a Trail hood with scoop.
I have a '15 Mag Grey Limited on the way and would be interested to see one with a Trail hood scoop.
I just let go of my 2000 3rd gen with scoop after 15 years and I am having a bit of separation anxiety.
I chose the Limited Edition to treat myself to some creature comforts and could not stand the vinyl seats on the Premium versions of the SR5 and Trail. The extents of my off-roading involve the very occasional sand dune trails once or twice a year. I wanted the heated and ventilated leather, dual climate control and softer suspension for a better experience 99.9% of the time.
But I do miss the aggressive look of the snout. I also need something to offset the skinny bicycle tires on the LE!
Please post up or point me in the right direction to see an LE with a TE hood. TIA.

I don't think it has been done. If you can't find it using the alternate search method in the stickies, then it likely hasn't been done on this site.

Just look at pictures of the (real) TE. It's not like they are completely different vehicles physically except for the wheels. ;-)

Also, all the TEP gains you is the fake leather NuTex seats and a sunroof. If you can live without a sunroof it's a no brainer on the TE.

I purposely did NOT buy a TEP or LE because I abhor 20" wheels (which are useless offroad) and vinyl seats.

I respectfully disagree with that statement. The Limited fascia is completely different and I am not sure if that the big nostril would look out of place or right at home on the LE.
I am sure that someone with some photoshop skills can superimpose a snout on a mag grey LE? Pretty please?:biggrin1:

With the "braces" look on the LE I'd be concerned the scoop might look out of place myself. But then I think the scoop is silly as well...

I know there is one guy on here that got the LE and purchased the TE hood scoop and got it color matched at the dealer. I know he paid more than what I would be willing to pay for looks over function for it, was it $800, was it close to $2k? I honestly can't remember, but it has been done.

Why even get Limited to mode it like this??? SR5 or Trail with KDSS and put $8k into modes.... done.

20" wheels sort of limits you on the tires you can put on it, especially aggressive ones, and I'd rather have more tire down there and less wheel.

It has been done. There's one running around the Tulsa area I know for sure. When I was trying to find mine the dealer said the last one they sold before me was a LE, and the guy paid for them to change to the 17" TE wheels and hood with scoop, at a cost of $3500! But he had to do it because it was the only way to get wife what she wanted with whiz bang electronic gadgets, and still get the Trail type look he wanted. I haven't seen it in a while, but vaguely recall thinking it looked pretty funky and not appealing.

But 20" wheels are not optimal for off-road use and as stated above your options for tires with that wheel size are severely limited compared to 17" wheels. IMO they are more about a fashion statement and less about practicality. And they do look good, I will give them that.

There are some things I like about the Limited (the leather is high quality) and some things I don't (way too much chrome for my tastes) but that one is personal taste.

I just feel that for true off-road use the TE with KDSS is the ultimate out of the box package. Even the car mag tests praise the articulation it provides and the crawl control.

Thanks to all for your opinions, but I am not trying to argue LE vs TE for off-road use or claim the 20" wheels are good or bad or anything like that.
I just want to see a Trail hood scoop on a 14 or 15 Limited.
I have spent 15 years with a lump on the hood (blinding, debilitating glare and all) and I really miss it. That is all.
Of course, I'd like to see a lump under the lump on the hood, but that is for the 2010+ supercharger thread. Please disregard that last statement.
I am personally thinking that a hood scoop and a plasti-dipped front chrome strip could look damn pretty cool.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, the Limited is a great truck, and I presume you could easily change the wheels if you had absolutely had to.

I've had the top of the line model before of various cars in the past and I always came to the conclusion that I'm fine with cloth seats, manual A/C unit, and a lack of gadgets. Dark colored leather in an Arizona summer isn't much fun.

With the 4R, it's helpful that I actually like the looks of the TE the best and it's also, arguably, the most capable of the non-Pro 4Rs.

Everyone has this idea about 20 inch wheels not being optimal for off road use...but I do not see any proof. Its like a bunch of lemmings following each other off a cliff with out questioning why they are doing so....
