14" TE guys weird noise

My 14 TPE makes the same noise/clunk when I was playing around with it in the desert the other day. Not sure what it is. I can't get it away from the wife long enought to take it back out there to investigate further.

How can you hear any noise coming from a 14" TE? You'd need to get on all fours to have gave good listen. J/K... I couldn't resist.

Possibly a parking brake cable with the isolator not in the right place? I've seen that on a few different vehicles.

I don't have a '14 (yet) so I'm just guessing based on past experience.
 
Same issue in a left turn. '14 TE w/KDSS and under 500mi.

It doesn't bother me very much anymore, but it sounded like the front tire was held on with two lug nuts at first.

so many with the same issue i've almost learned to deal with it, haven't had a chance to check it out completely.
 
I still have the issue and have also just learned to "deal with it" but I would think eventually someone will figure this out. Can't wait for that day so I can finally prove to my dealership its not the tires rubbing (I'm still baffled how they think that is the issue, doesn't sound anything like tires rubbing).

Oh well :) the truck is still bad ass
 
Happens in my 4th gen. It's USUALLY a bad sway bar bushing. I'm waiting to swap my bushings until I install my lift. (It's too damn cold to do anything! :( )

Edit: "USUALLY" as in Usually with 4th gens. No idea on the 5th's, but it's worth looking at.
 
2014 Trail w/ KDSS, less than 50 miles and I noticed it today twice while turning left at 10-20 mph. I'm not going to the dealership about it. I'll mention it at my first service unless it gets more constant or louder.
 
Same boat here on my 14 TE w/KDSS. The turn onto my street is a left with a lowered ditch (the low point for both sides of the crowned streets). Hit that at 15 or so mph and you can definitely hear it but, like ryn, will probably only ask them to peek at it when I go in for service.
 
It trips me out how many complaints of squeaks and rattles have been posted about '14 Runners. You'd figure Toyota would've addressed, what I assume, would be a simple fix before going to production.

I would personally go mad knowing I paid top dollar for a defective product. I guess I've got to count my blessings cause my complaints are only about minor things. Like; foggy visors and easy scratch paint.

People that buy Tacomas have been doing that for years. Complaints in 2005 about stuff like vibrations at various speeds, shuddering brakes, rusty frames, weak rear springs and wind noise are still being reported on 2013 Tacomas. It seems like Toyota hasn't bothered to really fix any of the problems, but that may not be completely accurate. They have "tried" to fix some, issued a couple of TSBs, blah, blah, but these same sort of issues still come up. Sad.

I'll be listening for that clunk/whatever on our new 2014 TE.
 
Anyone with an update on this noise? The only thing I have experienced other than the odd noise which everyone here is noticing, is that my truck experienced a miss, and rough idle that the dealer attributed to bad fuel?
