16' Tacoma Wheels on 15' 4runner Trail

So I wanted the wheel and tire setup I had on my 4runner for my 03 Tacoma. Found a set of 16 Tacoma wheels off a TRD sport. (Couldnt find any trail wheels local or I would have went that route) So I get home, throw the stock 4runner tires on the new wheels, do the swap and go to test drive. I put it in reverse and it wouldnt move. I got out to take a look and noticed that the brake calipers on the front were just ever so slightly touching the inside of the wheel. Long story short, had to take a dremel to the calipers to get them to work. Not sure if anyone else was interested in possibly doing this swap or going with a tacoma wheel but just know that it will take some modding. Pics kinda suck, I may add better ones tomorrow

4runners have significantly larger brakes (I'd assume calipers as well) than the tacomas. The Tacoma wheels are +30mm offset which is your issue. Also the tires on the Tacoma wheels are almost 1" shorter than stock 4runner tires...:shrug:

This has been discussed many times on here, shouldn't be a surprise that they didn't fit as a quick search around here would have discovered that 16" wheels require cutting off metal from the caliper, no thank you.

I've been wanting to find a set of Tacoma 18's or ltd 20's because there are some tire size options I'd like to have for a 2nd set of wheels/tires for street driving. I assumed the taco 18's would probably fit, but with +30 offset I'm not sure. I knew 16's were probably a no-go due to brake size otherwise I'd probably put 16's on for my offroad tires.
