1991 RV6/SR5 Shifter setup

Just a quick question,

I have a 1991 RV6 4Runner which the previous owner put in an SR5 manual gearbox (which I understand is slightly different gear ratio's).

My shifter itself is very loose and not direct (can wiggle the shifter around with about 50mm play in all directions when in gear) and am considering whether or not to purchase a whole new shifter linkage or just take mine apart again and try and tighten the bush (which so far has not made much of a difference).

Is the Shifter linkage setup for the RV6 and the SR5 the same?

Anyone have any other tips I haven't thought of to fix the loose shifter?

I believe there is a plastic bushing at the base of th shift linkage. You may want to take a look at it and replace it.

If it's a W56, I'd check out Marlin Crawler for shifter bushings. I don't know that we ever had that RV6 unless we know it by another name here in the States, I couldn't tell you if the linkage is the same or not.

buy both and install them ,that should take care of the ploblem
