1995 T4R 4 " lift

I just bought this 4 runner a couple weeks ago and am told it ha s a 4" lift.. Well i am just wondering if there is a way to tell what kind of lift it has on it... are there some lifts that suck???? It looks nice but I am just wondering the quality..
