Update:
Primed and Sanded it today.
Grits I used: 600, 1000, 2000, and 3000. Ya, it's pretty smooth.
All of the red is primer. In the last photo, all the primer will be color-matched.

Update: Almost Done
Well I finally got the paint on Monday.
Sanded my ass off. Painted a base coast of black. Paint wrinkled = F!
Sanded again. Painted again. Then I taped off where would be Black. I sprayed 4 coats of Evergreen Pearl. Peeled off the tape.
This grill, it does things, weird things... in your pants. 1st coat of clear is drying now. Should be done done by Friday.
Crappy iPhone pictures for now. I'll have to clean the 4Runner up before I put it on anyways.

Looks good, but why didn't you leave a black stripe down the middle? That's how my 02 Sunfire Red grill is. Other than that I approve and I think the 01-02 color matched grills look the best.

I plan on doing that eventually. I just think it looks great right now. I needed a break from paint and tape fumes. (Look they're getting to me) It's something I'll do when I have an hour to spare later on.

Looks good man! :guitar3: The only thing I would do if I were you.... put a crap load of clear (7 or 8 coats total), wet sand it again... til smooth... then polish with Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound, and some PlastX polish... and that baby should look as smooth as the rest of the hood/body!

Gotcha, yeah I was extremely fed up with my bumpers and flares when I did it. I still have a flare that needs to be redone, but I just don't have the motivation to do it. Great job though!
