So, did you wake up this morning feeling sore, not wanting to move?? But then you remembered you still need to finish working on your 4Runner...suddenly you jumped out of bed like it was Christmas morning!! With crazy excitement, anticipation and adrenaline you ran outside and knocked out the front diff swap in record time...and now your all done?!? Right....No?? And you call yourself a 4Runner owner and lover!! Whatever....Well, I guess we'll have to wait until next week...huh?!? Lol..J/J!!!
Seriously, I hope you can recoup through the week so you can get out there and finish next weekend !!
Good Juck,

Wow, great build. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of gas mileage were you getting before the gear swap?
Got to love the 1UZ. There is a guy I work with who got an LS400 from his father and it is still as smooth as silk at 314,xxx miles.
Still have the Lexus body?
That's underhanded as hell. The 5 years that you've been a member should account for something.I agree smooth as silk...but Sound Wicked with an exhaust!
Yeah, I still got the lex body, I was going to part it out on clublexus, but there's a Nazi moderator in league with a couple junk yard sponsors who wont let anyone part out a car on their forum unless said person has over 500 useless posts. Doesn't matter that I've been a member there for over 5 years...Although, I'm welcome to sell the car as a whole to one of the junkers for like 300.00 so they can part it out on clublexus for a tidy profit...I tell ya, that's some shady underhanded $H!T...A Moderator taking advantage of the forum members...:wtf:
Sorry, still a sore subject...

Wow just read through your build and have to say awesome job
Always thought of stuffing a 2uz in my runner with a t56 since I am only 2wd
One question do you have a link to the lighted grill emblem you used? How do you like it?
Cant wait to see the final project getting beat on the trails!

Did you ever consider using the Front sump lexus pan from the gs/ls? I see guys in OZ doing this swap and they never talk about a 2uz pan or a body lift. Is it the pan and exhaust alone that necessitate it?
I too may be interested in some mounts.

You might get away without a body lift, but 2" makes it lots easier, you won't have to bang the firewall for heads, bell housing, or exhaust clearance. also, when you set the engine and trans at the height you want, allowing proper clearances above, behind and below, the trans will sit a little higher. Really, it just gives you proper clearance all around the back and underside of the engine. I researched all available oil pan setups front mid and rear including custom ones. The 2uz pan is actually the most perfect fit of all the oil pan options if your running IFS as it was engineered by Toyota engineers to fit this engine in an IFS truck.
I may be interested in making a couple dozen sets...If people keep wanting them.
Makes sense, I know the guy who did the 2uz swap said the BL made it easier as well. I just like to keep COG as low as possible to suit my driving habits.
Did the engine placement necessitate the change in driveshaft length?
