It's been done, but there is no documentation. Just depends how much time and energy you want to put into it.

Hey, If the engine/trans runs, offer 500.00 for it...you can't lose at that price.
That 1995 model has lots of desirable parts on it, like a couple thousand in parts easy. then crush the shell for scrap for ~300.00
Hell, I'll buy the tail lights with harness to get you started...

I know that people in aussie-land run manual gearboxes behind the 1UZs
all the time. I'm sure Novak adapters or somebody similar makes them all the time.
Adapter, flywheel, clutch, probably cost you a thousand dollars on average.

It's a rev happy engine for sure...tachs out at 6500rpm. I was reading about a
#4 solenoid mod I can do that eliminates the anti-squat/smooth-shift feature of the Lexus trans that actually cuts power and slips the clutches. Supposedly shaves a half a second from the quarter mile time. Also makes the trans last longer.

You can hear it doing it's job in the first part of the video when I floor it, the engine seems bogged a little bit until about two grand...then it screams to life. Then I get a lazy 1-2 shift...

Apparently, by simply removing power from the #4 shift solenoid, the trans will work like it's supposed to...Roasting tires and barking second and third. I'll simply put a switch in series on that wire, so I can flip it on/off at will...

Thanks for the good words...

The remote start would be just the same as installing it on any other vehicle. The swap would not make anything different. Just have to follow the wiring instructions with what ever remote system you chose. I haven't looked into a push button start system, but I would think the same thing would apply, Just follow whatever instructions came with the kit.

Yes on the transmission work. I had to mate the 1UZ to the 4runner trans by swapping parts from the Lexus a340 over to the 4runner a340. It was just that by the way, simply swapping parts. I didn't have to modify anything.

I haven't gotten to the solenoid mod yet...been working on the Lexus lately...But I'm sure it will do exactly what it's supposed to do as others have done this for their SC400s and had good results.

I received an email notice today that someone posted on your swap thread again. So, I looked it up to see what was posted. It's by far one of...if not, my favorite swaps. I had some extra time, so I decided to re-read the entire swap again. Man, I'd love to have that V-8 in my 4Runner! I almost did the swap...I had talked to you once and you advised to buy a whole car and not just an engine off eBay. So, as I was looking for a good SC400, I ran across a Supercharger for our 3.4 on the cheap. So I grabed it and just finished my install. I'm Pretty happy with it...but there's nothing like the sound and torque of an V-8!!

Anyway...as I was re-reading your swap, I read were you said you are originally from Texas. I'm living in Ohio and I too am from Texas. Just got me to wondering where bouts did you live in Texas (I know it's a big ass state)?? I was born in Garland (just at side Dallas) but grew up out in east Texas in the small town of Edgewood (in between Terrell and Tyler off Highway 80). Been up here in Ohio(or better known as purgatory..lol) for almost 20 years now. But I still concider myself a Texan...I guess I'm an O'Texan?!?

So...just wanted to give a fellow Texan a shout out! Heck, maybe someday I'll still get the nerve to do this swap?! Have a good day Sir!

So I moved in with my Father in Friendswood, a suburb of Houston, till I enlisted into the US Army @ 17 years of age (Father couldn't handle me anymore). When I got out of the army I lived in Akron for a while before moving to North Olmsted. Then back to Garland for a death in the family and finally up to Kentucky where I have been for the last 23yrs. I suppose I have adopted Ky. as my home now... I guess that would make me a KenTexan...

That is crazy...I went to Centerville Elementary, Then I was back and forth between Houston and Garland. I split my time between Memorial Middle school and Webster Middle in Houston for a while, and I did my freshman year at Garland High before moving to Houston to stay...I'm 43 now and Graduated from Clear Creek High School in Houston in 1990 at 17yrs old. so you were probably just a couple years ahead of me...
With my Fathers insistence and signature, I enlisted 11B just as Desert Storm was heating up...Apparently I had a lot of pent up aggression that needed exercised! As you know, that whole thing was short and sweet and "The rest is History" as they say...
After that, I went to work construction for my buddies father in North Olmsted. Ended up going to college in Kentucky and getting my degree in Engineering Technology (Robotics and Automation). Been doing that ever since.

P.S. I secretly always wanted to become a Police Officer...(thrill of the chase and all) but I probably would have shot some dirtbag every chance i got so I guess it's for the best I didn't...

Here's the latest pictures I have of it. I've been driving it around in it's stock form, just shaking it down. It pulls extremely hard, losing traction in all gears. It's going to be super fun when I get a boost controller and fuel cut defencer going.
