2-3 inch lift w/out wheel spacers?

Hey everyone, i just ordered OME kit 884/895E from Toytec. The rep at Toytec who helped me choose the parts and offered technical advice highly recommended wheel spacers.

I told him i'm planning on running BFG At 265/70/17 after the lift and he said the truck is gonna feel less stable compare to stock, especially on turns.

Before I spend another $200.00 on Spidertrax just wanted to see if anyone is running a similar height lift without wheel spacers and if there is really a decrease in stability.

I think the spacers do make the truck look better and more aggressive, but at this point im on a tight budget and will only spend another $200.00 if stability/safety is an issue.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Track width will add stability but not necessary though, also all pro has a cheaper wheel spacer if your nickel and dimeing it

Spider Trax will add 2.5 inches of track width. I don't believe it will make or break anything. I had them on my 08 and loved the look, but I drove it for a week without them and I didn't feel a big difference. When I traded it in I drove it to a dealer in VA, little over 100 miles, and I didn't notice a difference without the spacers. Check with Martini (another forum member) He had his Daystar lift for maybe a year without spacers. He Picked up mine when I traded the 08 this past September.

I have the OME lift. I think the tire and tire inflation play an important role.

I can run my MTZ which are 33/12.5/17 on black tundra rim (instead of spacers) and it feels very solid aired up, or aired down on the street. Wide tire and nice solid lugs and side wall.

I also run a 265/65/17 yokohama AT/S on stock SE rims with the OME lift. These feel very good. A bit wider tire or spacer might make it better, that's the theory anyway, but since I'm not running rallies at top speed I say it is negligible for me.

I also run 265/65/17 yokohama winter tires on stock SE rims in winter time. These would be based on same carcass I believe as the AT/S. I think there is less thread to the pavement and the thread compound would be softer than it's summer time/AT counterpart. And so I do feel it less stable. I pulled a trailer one time, and added air to my tires. Removed trailer and didn't air back down. It felt much better. So now I just keep them inflated over the 32psi. Experiment with air pressure and find your sweat spot.

I Have OME Kit as Well ..I Go Even Skinnier 255/85/16 w/o Spacers Plus I have about 600 extra pounds of Bumpers winch lotsa gear and no spacers.\No Issues

Same here...I have the Daystar lift and 255/75/17 BFG MT (skinnier tire) tires and my rig tracks just fine. In fact with Xreas I'm still hitting the corners at good speed and feel pretty planted. I do plan on Spidertrax down the road for a purely cosmetic standpoint, but for now you'll be just fine.

I have been running Daystar 2.5" lift with BFG 265/70/17 all terrains for 5 years now. It drives and feels just like it did stock. I would not want wheel spacers. I do not want to take a chance on them coming loose. Also do not want it any wider for off road because it fits fine in most Jeep ruts and do not want to make it harder to sqeeze between big rocks in the desert. If the wheels stuck out much further it would also splash most debri and mud on the sides of the 4runner.

I recommend all pro spacers is you are going to go with spacers, unless you are in love with the spidertraxx color. The all pros are cheaper and they are essentially the same product.

Thanks everyone for your inputs. Considering the majority opinion here, i'm gonna hold off on spacers for now.

I noticed most people do run spidertrax, i guess its just brand recognition or a longer history so better reputation, idk, just a thought.
