Market value and the dealers take advantage but once they're in full production and the newness wears off they'll settle around $30k and definetly and it's nice to see Toyota pushing the off road aspect of the FJ instead of creating another soccer mom vehicle which the FJ isn't.
I need to get a pic of the two together

What color is that FJC? I have only seen the blue, black, & yellow ones around Jersey.

I've driven both. I think I like my runner better. It's much more refined has more bell and whistles. The one thing I like better about the fj is the head room. I'm 6'8" and there is alot more room in the fj.

There were 2 fj's "available" at the dealer when I test drove my runner so I drove both the day I decided on the runner. The fj was nice and actually drove better than I thought it would....but the runner was the hands down winner and with the X-REAS it kicks butt.
I thought the fj was a nice vehicle but the demographic it was designed for is a bit young for me. I read somewhere that Toyota designed it for the late 20's male market and that's pretty apparent with some of the design elements, especially on the inside. Had Toyota not made it so "toy-like" in some regards I think I probably would own one right now but I remember sitting there in the drivers seat thinking how much some of the details reminded me of a Honda Element. Perhaps as the generations wear on some of these styling elements will soften and the fj will appeal to a wider range of buyers. For now though, I'm loving my runner and I'm convinced every day that I made the right decision.

Congrats on the new vehicles.
I absolutly loooove the way the 06 Limited looks. I still have to get used to the 06 SR5 or Sport, but the Limited looks simply amazing. Good choice on the color too. Silver is very easy to keep clean and hides swirls and small scratches very well.

For my purposes I like the runner better. I drove the FJ when it first came out. Too many blind spots and its a %&^% to back up and park. The advertised cool factor just wasn't there fro me. My dad loves the FJ. He's has a sliver Tacoma on 33's at home too. He's a grown up boy who likes his toys.
On the downside, I find the the new runner has to many gizmos partiically the 4x4 system. For some reason I don't feel I feel as secure about it as my old third gen was. Maybe I'm just sentimental. Who knows.

MR2turbo4evr - Aside from the SR5 having a chrome trim package and the SE having the scoop and painted side mirrors how could you not like the them. Are there some other Limited exterior changes on the 06 that make you like that one better? ...just curious.

Those vehicles definetly compliment each other nicely.....your silver Ltd with the 18's looks awesome! Silver on the FJ is my least fav. colour tho, I like more contrast with the white roof....still looks killer; hopefully he puts some 33's on that too

At least for a retro/funky type vehicle they kept it real-world useful, as opposed to an SSR or something.

I really like the 18" rims of the limited too. The perfect 4th gen 4Runner in my opinion would be a 06 limited with hoodscoop and 05 headlights and foglights. Don't get me wrong though, I still like all 4Runners. Its just that I prefer some over the others.
