2" Lift + Factory Rake Possible?

Hi Guys,

Been pouring over the various lift threads trying to figure out a solution that works for my needs. I don't want to go crazy in terms of height and I think 2" of lift would be more than enough. I do however want to maintain factory rake with extra equipment that will be permanently installed: 60lb hitch rack, Gobi roof rack, full skid plates, Metal tech rock sliders and 3rd row seating. Right now im thinking the following:

Front: Bilstein 5100s set at 1.75"
Rear: Bilstein 5100s + OME 2" Lift Coils

Would like this thing to sit "level" when loaded with 5 people and their associated junk in the back. The truck won't be a serious rock crawler but will be seeing dirt on day trips to the local off road park and camping adventures into the backcountry.

I have a 3" lift front and back which maintains the factory rake, and assuming you're going to go with 285's, there is really no reason not to go 3" all around. That will keep it leveled when you're loaded up with gear, and the upgraded shocks will give great suspension performance even though you've increased the center of gravity.

I run the Toytec Boss kit set to 2.5" and it settled out to 2" front, 2" rear and kept the factory rake in part because I tow my RV with it. Consider adding Airlift or Firestone Airbags. Airing them up when you're fully loaded out will also keep you level and assist with ride when loaded.

My completely uneducated comments, in trying to stay around that lift myself and initially having a similar setup weight wise, you will probably get what you want with that setup still having decent rake. I went with adjustable coilivers so it could be set to leave myself about .5" rake(among other things) when loaded with people, stuff, and bikes on back it was almost level but the rear SAW coils have a slightly higher spring rate than stock. Each truck is probably slightly different but sounds like you are probably on the right track.

This was all before I put the new rear bumper on a couple weeks ago, that changed things for sure, that basically took away most rake I had.
