2 Quick Important Questions

1) I am installing an aftermarket stereo into my '97 4runner. I took out the stock radio and besides the wiring harness there were two plugs, looked kind of like RCA plugs, that were both plugged into the stock radio. Anyone know what they were? Power? Ground? Stock amp? Antenna?

My aftermarket stereo has an input but only for one of those (doesn't have two inputs).

2) Do I need a wiring harness or can I just cut off the stock harness and connect the aftermarket harness wires with it. Is it really difficult or should I get the harness? If I need it where can I buy one?

1) Not 100% on this but the wires are antenna wires. When you see two wires it means you have a separate inputs for AM/FM or the in glass antenna. I am sure someone will add to this...

2) YES! BUY THE KIT! This new trick radio will be a POS in 5 years. You don't want to butcher up the harness and the kits are cheap, $20. BestBuy and many places have kits.

My first guess is that it's antenna inputs.

And I completely agree, don't hack up the factory harness. Get the kit. This will give you more options later on.
