20-21 W/Apple Car Play, IPhone storage ideas

Hey guys. So I just picked up a 21 Runner with CarPlay. What are you guys doing to store your iPhones and keeping them plugged in to the front USB port at the same time? I obviously want to use CarPlay, thus the need to keep my phone plugged into the front USB port. But would like to store the phone out of site without wires all over the place. Let me know any ideas or solutions you’ve come up with. Thanks!

I'm going to be installing an aftermarket system w/ CarPlay so I have been researching good ways to mount my phone also. Came across this post using the ProClip center console mount and think it will work well, I'll probably be doing something similar.

I ordered the 2019 and below dash panel with a regular size button cutout, and moved my usb port to my center console. Then added a wireless carplay adapter, and am going to VHB tape a magsafe ring to the side of my center console to throw my iphone 12 pro on there.

Yeah the center console should have already had the usb for CarPlay in there in my opinion. You could hook the phone up and forget about it. Would be so easy. How exactly are you planning to move the port?

I just toss my phone in the front cup holder. Upside down so the USB port is available, screen facing away from me, and I use a very short USB cable. I actually use the cable from that bullshit Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch that came out last year. I hated that I spent money on that thing, but it did come with a damn good USB cord for my truck. I praised Jesus when my truck got broken into earlier this year when I saw that the USB cord wasn't stolen.

I will use a panel mount USB extension. Just plug it into the factory port inside the center console and tape them together.

Then my anytime camera switch will go in the stock location
