What wheel offset you running? i have 20x9 in that tire size on my limited as well. -12 and I get rubbing.
Looks great! My imagination or do you have a level kit or front spacer lift of some sort? My '16 LE doesn't sit that level. 20 x 9, -12 offset.
Crummy pics I know..

Second Post here. Been cruising the threads here for a while and have a week and a half old 2016 TR4 Limited with the 20's
I have been reading the thread and some others deciding on some winter tires for New England snow and ICE. Went online looking for a replacement tire and having trouble finding something that stands out. My commute is pretty hilly, as is my driveway. Most winters its ice.
I'm more confused now, lol. Anyway what are the current best direct swaps for winter tires that people have been happy with? I'm more than willing to go up to a 265. But I also want the same OD of the tire so not to have rubbing or speedometer issues. Thanks in advance!
Finally got my wheels after 9 months of looking on this forum. Thought I would share as this forum has been a great resource for tires and wheels.
These are the Black Rhino Traverse 20" x 9" with a 15 offset. The tires are the new Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 size 275/55R20. Not that aggressive looking as I do a lot of street driving, but All-Terrain and All-Weather nevertheless. They almost sit flush to the fender. A much better aggressive stance than the stock 20" x 7".
I'm very happy with the setup, and a huge improvement with the drive and handling. They slightest rub when the wheel is cranked on a slight slope, and I haven't seen a difference in fuel economy though I would expect it as they are a wider tire with likely more grip/friction.
Think I got it all covered. Thanks to all who contribute. Here are some photos. (It was a very dark day, and I'm lazy to re-take them).

It's obvious from all of the replies that we have a ton of 'experts' on this forum. Some of you 'experts' might want to contact the actual professionals (discounttire.com, etc.) that recommend and will take the 'liability' of putting 275 55 20's on the 4Runner limited factory wheels and advise them as to what they're doing wrong. I'm sure these large chain tire professionals would love to hear from the 'arm chair quarterbacks' and have you set them straight and I'm sure they'll adjust their practices accordingly.
This is why I purchased aftermarket wheels. Not worth it for me. Plus, the amount Toyota charges for the stock tires up here in Canada, it wasn't much more to get wheels and a better tire.
2, buy new wheels, added cost of $900, on top of the price of tires.
I would probably do this, but it is my understanding that wider wheels will not fit correctly without rubbing?
I've had a very slight rub under extremely hard brake, cutting wheel full lock right, not left though. It was a little plastic flange on mud flap that stuck out, no issue resolved quick.
Yeah, I meant if I went with your option #2 and bought different wheels/tires.
Exactly. My 275/55 set up is awesome. Big blizzaks
